Anyone know the story behind the 'head teeth' on Gikkola and Booba?

 

I really love these guys. The vintage ones are amazing too, and that box art. Wow! Even though they are tiny, they have massive impact and character. These are the 3 I have, I thought the clear head teeth were the 1st release, but I guess I was wrong. I can't seem to track down a Booba to at least make a set of 3 different.
