Pictures of my submission, "Zagoran Sunrise". I tried to so something simple and, keeping within the parameters, that could be made into a production piece. My first attempt at doing something like this...

nice. my one critique would have been to use a color on the eye/teeth/nails that contrasted against the body.

I agree... the color is great but it would add so much to have the eye painted.

Thanks! Yes, he's glittery, and with color gradations through light to deep orange. Done with dye, gold glitter spray paint, and 18k gold paint.

I couldn't think of any color to paint the eye that wouldn't detract from the overall appearance, but I guess I still have a couple days to think about it.

Can't wait to see it with a painted eye. They just look way cooler with it.

Nice job, love the colors!. I bet in person the eye contrasts more than in the pic. Add a pupil into the center of the eye with a dark marroon?. I like how you had production in mind while doing this. I have to get started on my Zag entry.

Actually the pupil IS painted the same gold as the teeth and nails, and there's a gold highlight on the ridge over it as well. It just doesn't show up really well in the picture. It's hard to photograph metallics well...

Beautiful entry coasterbear, I can see what you mean by saying how you couldnt think of a colour for the pupil, without detracting from the over all look.
If after the competition you would like to sell this Zagoran let me know please as i am interested

The gold an orange is a great combo and I reckon it would look way better in person.

I like it as-is; I'm a sucker for metallic/glittery stuff. The orange looks very vibrant, too!

The S7 blog also has a picture of my other submission, which is a tribute to Super 7, and also a stab at stuffing a figure with something that I hadn't seen used before...the feathers don't read very well, but it was kind of fun :)
