.....when your main motivation to move outta your 1 bedroom into a 2 bedroom is to have a Toy Room!!!! and you've been told by a girl that all your toys are a sign of insecurity! and you never saw said girl again because of said comments! F that B!!!! Such the life we live....
...when you take a toy with you on vacations, and take pictures of the toy in the city landmarks instead of you
You compose an email to be sent (after having it translated into Japanese) to Kaiyodo Revoltech, CCP and Bandai Ultra-Act which, while being very respectful and highly complimenting of their work, passionately makes the case for them to do a detailed, well-articulated (as much as Gary can be) sinister take on Garamon (based on a particular digitally-rendered postcard image you’ve been obsessed with for about five years) which will feature a face and torso with hidden hinges which can be opened to reveal his robotic inner workings, sculpted in mindboggling detail. Then you sit back, wait… and pray to the Gara-toy gods…. (And for the record, my order of preference for the project: CCP; Kaiyodo; Bandai.)
haha, i mention a toy room constantly when me and my lady are watching those house hunters shows (we wanna get a place soon). They'll be like "this is a great spare room, maybe an office" I'm like "that would be a sweet toy room!"
Neither was mine. I said if we get a house one day I'm totally having my own toy room/office. She said "Yeah it's called the basement in boxes!" I was NOT amused. No way am I ever going to NOT own a home and not have a room for my toys/collection. It's a given if you want to be with me. Men/Toy nerds of the world STAND UP to your woman. Seriously do not let them even try to get a upper hand on you with your collecting. As long as your not spending money that should be going to mortgage/rent, bills, food, etc etc. What you do with your free money is up to you. Look at all the crap women buy: shoes, clothes, jewelry, candles etc etc. I put my foot down hard.
Hey, hey, hey, not ALL women I'm female and do not spend my extra money on shoes, clothes, jewelry, makeup, candles, etc.. I spend most of my extra money on toy collecting. But do keep your dream alive. My husband and I own a house and we have three bedrooms. One is our bedroom, one is his office, and one is my room with my desk, computer, and various display cases, shelves, etc. filled with my toy collections and some books. I swear, if we ever have a kid, his room goes first lol
Sorry let me rephrase that..... Toy nerds of either sex, when your significant other, partner, g/f or b/f tries to lay down the law on what you spend your money on, as long as you're doing your part financially in the relationship (and the toys have not overtaken the house completely), you tell them to take a long walk off a short pier.
I agree, the complaining about buying toys gets tiresome. You have to eventually "train" your spouse into either not minding the buying of more toys, or "train" them to keep their comments/thoughts to themselves. It took a few years, but Brian doesn't hassle me like he used to about buying toys. He tried to get me not to spend my money on toys for quite sometime, but now he seems to be ok with it. Oh, and the word "train", I got from Brian. He says that I need to train him and vice versa. lol
my girlfriend has her own toy problems thank god but anytime i buy something big i just get her something from MAC (makeup) and use it to distract...
lol she collects women of the dc universe and j after meeting joe and hank with me at sdcc she has taken to the mummy boy and the rose vamp... so i got me some wiggle room
Post up some pics of her women of DC collection somewhere, maybe in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=30492&hilit=motu
I's just messin'. I can imagine it would make collecting a lot easier, having a significant other who also collects. Just got to watch out that you don't end up on Hoarders.
for sure i will take pics and throw them up tomorrow.. and it is really nice to have a related focus means sdcc vacations are the perfect get away
