I just finished up this custom after being inspired by Ricky's (Velocitron) Larvagon. It really has an ALIEN vibe to me. I'm a BIG fan of the ALIEN franchise and collected quite a few of the toys from the series. A lot of it being Japanese. Marmit's doing some great ALIEN sculpts as well so I figured it would be OK to post this little guy here... Couple more at my blog if interested.
Ha! thanks lee! nah he just sits there and looks alieny. I need to come up with an alien slime generator.
I really like this guy! The red spray totally sets it off from other Alien figures. Is the original one vinyl? I kind of remember a resin kit that looked like that, but there are so many Alien figures/models floating around that I can't keep track of them all. New Marmit Big Chap at Superfest, too! (with glitterrrrrrrrrr!)
Not sure about the origin of this figure but it is vinyl. I found it at wondercon 4 years ago and paid $10. It was just unpainted black vinyl. The big chap is one of my favorites...it was also the only way to get the cocooned human figure seen in the 'directors cut' and it's extremely poseable. Have to see this glittery one!
awesome custom, and a great find. I have never seen this mini alien piece anywhere. really like the red sprays on the head!
Not the best shot, but for what its worth! I keep hoping they'll do a GID version of this guy in ridiculous colors (hot pink, purple, lime green).
Thanks for the pic...cool with glitter! My initial idea was to paint the SD alien in wild metallic colors..but after I painted him with a gloss black v-color base... it just looked so good all black & shiny, so I decided to just do silver highlights and blood spray I was actually on the bay poking around today for some kind of vinyl alien to do a series of different colorways...hmmm. I wish I would've bought more of the SD's when I had the chance
