If you were looking to snag a copy of the Collector's Edition of the new WoW expansion, Amazon's got them up for pre-sale again.

Blizzard won't see a penny from me ever again.

They have possibly the worst developers in the history of MMORPGs currently on staff.

I'll boycott Diablo or anything else they put out just because of the steaming pile of crap they've made of a once enjoyable game (World of Warcraft vanilla was great).

Any title they release might start out good but the best devs get pulled and then they put people who have no idea what they're doing in charge of the expansions (didn't they hire EQ's worst people for BC).

It became a time sink from hell that's made worse by constant nerfs that require regearing.

I quit after hitting 70 in BC. The writing was on the wall and it was a good decision.

I read the forums sometimes to see how mad the player base is and they seem really pissed lately.

Likely pre orders are back up because large bases of certain classes are quitting and pulling out of their pre orders.

LOL... well, I started up with BC, so if there was a golden age of WoW prior to its release, I wouldn't know. Perhaps missing out on the original launch was a good thing for me. :D

And right now, there was a major talent tree adjustment due to the upcoming Wrath release, and they're trying to tune things to scale well going from 70 to 80... so there's lots of grumbling because Pallies got WAY overpowered, and now they're getting nerfed, and the Pallies are all bent out of shape. They'll constantly readjust things here and there as required.

But class balancing is basically impossible, and complaining online is just nature of ANY mmo... with so many possible match ups with so many classes, there's always going to be some imbalances. It's rock/paper/scissors

I still get a kick out of the game though, so I'm excited for the expansion. :D

I can't wait to make a female Gnome Deathnight named Kupcake... :D

I hope you have a high enough level character to make the Deathknight. Otherwise you're going to hate trying to get one. Class balancing is impossible and your choice of rock/paper/scissors is a bad example because that is about as balanced a game as they get ;) The problem with balance is that you're dealing with fractions even past thousands at times.
I still play but only because I'm playing with people that I know outside of the game. That's the biggest difference for me and the only way I'll keep playing.
What Krudler says is very true. Once the game is released, the people that originally did the work are only on for a few more weeks or months before the company brings in new people to take it over.
In Blizzard's case, a few of the original team has left Blizzard, and I'm not talking about the scrubs. I'm talking about the art director, lead engineer, and those types.
Diablo was appealing at the time but yes...as Stewy once said...click click bloody click.
