Hey, you beat me to it Missy! I've revisited this image numerous times now. Something so magical about it. I love that fact that that it's so discoloured and out of focus - dream like.
i too, love the great dreamlike qualities in this pic..... i was 6 and riding my green machine big wheel around the block......man i loved that back hand brake, it made such a great spinout......
I was not alive. But I love that Black King. I found the head and waist/feet of the toy in an antique store in Hawaii and was immediately intrigued by the design. One day I'll own the whole thing...
Fully agreed: BEST picture ever. No focus, no real composure, just pure 'hammer of the gods' stuff. Thanks for posting this - it's really inspirational. I love the faded color and blobs on the film. Definitely something to be proud of! WOW! fission chips/00005
Gads, I was two months in utero... That pic is...inspiring. Plus I'm jealous--my Black King has a red neck!
I was 9 but no vinyl, hard to find in Sacramento. Had lots of Micronauts though and that is Japanese in a roundabout way.
My mom has a similar one of me holding a ben kenbi star wars figure at xmas 1978. I will have to get it from her. Amazing picture paul.
In '77, I turned 5 and the only kaiju I was playing with was Godzilla's Gang vinyls (though that may have been '7. I can't imagine having Ark and Bullmark to play with.
Don't make come over there ......nah, brah...I got nuthin' but love and fond memories of my Goji, Eleking, and especially King Joe. If I'd had Ark and Bullmark toys, though....
all i had growing up in canada was aurora godzilla model kits . would have killed to have the toys paul kaiju had ( has ) . old toys in old photos = greatness .
