I'm curious what all the Kohgan color variants are that have been released? (Pink one to the left is a custom by Topheroy)
Re: Wombat Toys Kohgan variants Both. Sorry I couldn't specify, I don't know too much about this sofubi. That's why I made this thread in hopes of learning some more about it and its variants.
I have an unpainted clear which I think might have just been a test pull.. not sure. I also have a painted version... orange vinyl? I'll have to refresh my brain when I get home.
Kougan was originally produced by a company called Amapro, which was the reason for my question. I don't know the specifics, but Wombat Toys painted and sold runs of several Amapro figures over the past few years. I think those are the only two Kougan painted by Wombat, but I'm not 100% certain and will have to check. You can see Amapro's sculpt checklist at his website here: http://www42.tok2.com/home/amapro1996/syouhin.html These are only the unique sculpts produced by Amapro, not all of the different color versions. Note also that Kougan was later released as a larger, standard-size figure. Any unpainted Kougans are probably test shots and/or lottery items given away at past Patchimon Summit events. I don't think unpainted Kougans were ever officially released.
Need to get my hands on that standard Kohgan! Trying to collect as many variants of him as possible. he's definitely one of my favorite sculpts. The pink Kohgan I have was originally unpainted
Did Lulubell sell a blank run of Amapro figures at some point? That sounds kind of familiar, but I can't remember.
I don't think they did. I got this off of the site Vicious fun. They had it listed as being by Amapro
Is the version of Kohgan a KM exclusive to them or just a doll he had to put up for sale? I really like the colors but hesitate posting anything here since the situations expressed. Does anyone know about that particular Kohgan? Also is the guy known as Manx the guy behind Wombat? I ask since Manx output seemed to decline as Wombat increased. All I know is the association to Marmit. Anyone know more?
This is an awesome toy to pursue collecting IMO @Boglin Man. They look great together. I've always dug the sculpt, but don't own any. It's really cool how it's kinda like a Barugon head plopped on a Gamera body. A perfect example of those patchi vibes. My personal favorites from Amapro are the Banangas and Hegolla mashups, they look great with my Guiron collection.
