For those who care, here are some examples of what the move did... It's not the end of the world, and nothing super rare seems to have been affected except for a Brian Flynn HP Dokuwashi and D-Lux custom Dragamel, but still. I'll see how they'll cover the damage (if...). They punched a hole in my KvP box too, don't know if I can claim that!
Really sucks man! Look at it as a learning experiance. Not only for yourself but for the rest of us brainers as well. Want to move your toys? - Do not delegate toy moving responsibilities but do it yourself. And for your everyday toy security - Kill everyone within a 5 ft range from your toys.
These will be all the toys I will be taking with me when I move. So long to the rest of the collection I have a few resins that were gifts I'm taking too. I have some Elegabs on the side I can't decide if they make the cut or not.
Nice and tight. Sometimes you've gotta purge and strip it all down even though it sucks and can be annoying. But it also gives you perspective. Is that a custom Bootleg next to the GID one?
Yeah custom by Lamour with a Rxh eye stuck on his head. It rules! it'd look better with a nag ball next to him but thanks the purge feels good maybe one day i will have money to grow the collection again (sigh)
You may not have a Nagball, but you got a good looking summertime Nag. I've done the same to my collection. Purging it out and keeping the personal and inspiring toys. And it kind of grew back again within the past months. Might have to do another cleaning. But hey, you got the creme de la creme right there. Love the collection.
I have a bunch of stuff to purge but I doubt I could get even half cost for them at this point so I keep them around. Running outa space though!
Well, not really the "whole collection" - but it is my entire (currently displayed) Toho collection. I revised them this past weekend, and felt quite accomplished to slim down to focus on Godzilla & Hedorah with just 2 MechaG's, 1 Gorosaurus, 1 Gamera, and 1 Baragon. Sorry for the crap pic, lighting is most difficult here.
The Salari Ikas are awesome! I wish I had one of those. Are they hard to come by? I only discovered them last week or so.
They seem to be harder to come by nowadays - i only recently got the orange one off S7 on the SB sales thread. They keep their price too, i think this is because of the Kozik design the sculpt was modeled on . . . (There is a guy from Hungary on ebay selling one for $114 - its been there ages . . . . .)
It's like 9000 degrees and 200% humidity today so I'm bored.....Decided to post some whole collection shots since it's been about a year?? and lots of new arranging and cramming in tight spaces. I'm horrible at getting all this in with a simple point and shoot (no wide angle really), so I decided artsy angles were the way to go. I had to get on a step ladder to take these so my hands are a little shaky: 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr 7/20/11 Whole Collection Shots by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr
Very colorful and a shit ton of fun. I love seeing collections where a lot of time and patience has been poured in. However in a life or death situation Chris...if you had to keep only one of those detolfs which would you pick??
Thanks bryce, hmmm tough one! I've always tried to think of what I'd do if my apartment were on fire, but not to the point where I'd need to just save me and my g/f and that's all I could do. I'm only on the 2nd floor so I might be able to grab a bed sheet, tilt the detolfs so the toys fall out and wrap it up like a giant santa sack and toss it out a window. That's my plan but more than likely I'd not have that much time. I'd say either the top (what is sitting on the detolfs top) or the center one. Not for the Maza either, I just spent a shitload of time squeezing in the Apes & Hukko Ceratosarus in the bottom shelf! Thanks Eric, I love looking at your shelves as well.
Glass shelf bendingly great collection and arrangement Chris. Not sure how some of those on the edges aren't falling out!
I know what you mean by 9000 degrees, dude its so flippin hot out today!! I gotta cut my grass, im waiting for the sun to go down a bit before I do, my gosh, heat stroke here I come... Anyhow your collection is mind blowing, Lixx. I love the variety, and all that GID goodness. Your set up is sweet, nice and tight with perfect color coordination.
C'mon Lixx didn't EBIII teach you anything? You need to sell your collection off for next to nothing, to us board members, and start over again... You can start with those Butas... (Although I will settle for U.S. Toys...)
