Nicely said Andy. That's one of the positive things about the "shrinking global village," or at least I hope there's more opportunity for improved understanding these days.
Real quote from a gradeschool friends mom about our 8th grade South Korean teacher (she was kinda nuts overall, not an excuse, just adding a layer to her before one reads this): "When Tom told me that he doesn't know karate I was shocked! That's like a religion to them!" I still make jokes about that quote to this day it was so ridiculous.
Of course Frank produced a Hitler toy back in 2004 I believe... http://flickriver.com/photos/lord-jim/155125818
Well, Hitler dolls aren't new. This was for sale at a local Toy Fare I was at a few weeks back. http://www.amazon.com/Adolf-Hitler-Chancellor-Action-Figure/dp/B000NX7BBU would have bought it but he wanted £80 for it. Came with a podium too.
http://www.lulubelltoys.com/cord-viper- ... rsion.html I still prefer mine glowing with white pride </sarcasm>
my gawd! that figure is so tiny. Are all of the Viper Cords the same size as the vinyl Acroyear henchmen?
No, this guy is a smaller figure...kinda like a mini, but a bit bigger. The other cord viper characters are about 8 inches tall
This thread is very interesting. Here, we take a toy made in Japan by a Japanese guy as homage to his childhood TV shows and spin it so, by the end of thread, the toy is almost reviled. I love Kamen Rider villians and the whole Shocker empire. Yes, some of the costumes are based on heinous groups/individuals from world history. But they're really demented and cool. Even the toy in this thread. I might be going out on a limb here but a bunch of Japanese dudes created these characters to be the embodiment of evil incarnate, not real world racists. Nor to espouse or endorse racialist views.
yeah, I see that. totally. still, it hits a nerve. for a dude in japan, maybe the KKK doesn't really mean shit so the toy is a good idea for a bad guy-- but for a minority living in the US, it might be hard to think of it as "just fun". I don't take it to heart or anything, but I still don't feel really stoked about the character design. so don't buy it...yeah yeah, I know. I think the purple and yellow colorways are pretty cool. If it was 7-8" I would probably have one for the ghost sider to fight, but whatevers.
I can't be the racial debate is still going on haha, I started the thread in complete in complete sarcasm. This toy is ridiculously awesome.
