I've never had the pleasure. I'm not a rockabilly fan, but once they went 'Southern Weirdo' I was hooked.
just got a new record player that isnt terrible so ive been spinning a lot more vinyl recently. this japanese pressing of here come the warm jets is great, and comes with this cool insert.
I didn't find anything in the shops on record store day, but I ordered these 2 Sutekh Hexen side projects from Anit-Matter: http://antimatterrecords.bigcartel.com/ Circle of Eyes (ambient doom) Fermentæ (drone solo project) I'm really looking forward to them! Speaking of Sutekh Hexen, I've also got some of there stuff coming from Wands. http://www.wandsrecords.blogspot.ca/ For some reason the Yellow pressing seems to still be in print. I already had the black, but couldn't resist!
A guy who I play music with just sent me this link to a cover of November Rain by a musician playing under the name Prom Queen, and I felt compelled to share it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXptgD6ju-M
^^^ agree. after pitchfork blew them its been meh. however, check out sam's (the drummers) two new bands DNF and Condition.
I've been listening to this track by Rainbow Arabia almost religiously since I heard it in an episode of Eastbound And Down. That show has some awesome music btw. Peep it below - both the original version and a killer remix: http://blog.kexp.org/2011/06/14/song-of ... e-version/
Can't stop listening to Alternative TV's "Action Time Vision" and the rest of the album I got recently from my US trip last month.
anyone else pick up norah jones AND marilyn manson today? as if my tastes haven't been all over the place for years, today proved it to me. oh yeah, and check out single mothers...
Been digging in my crates and pulled out some of my old creation wax so I've been listening to Ride, Teenage Fanclub & The Jesus & Mary Chain the past few days.
One of the greatest and most aggressive guitar solos Robert Fripp ever played, and Eno's lyrics were so deliciously perverse and cynical back then. Bring the noise! I saw Ride open for Lush many moons ago. It was surprising how young they were. Lush were good but Ride completely blew them out of the water. Er, not par for the course around here, but I've been listening to a lot of Renaissance music from the general Mediterranean region by Jordi Savall, the recently departed Montserrat Figueras and their ensemble Hesperion XXI. It might sound boring but it's not. Recommended if you like artists like Dead Can Dance.
