It's been about eight years since I've been so instead of buying a crazy amount of gifts that no one will remember by January first we're taking a family trip. So are there any toy shops I should try and hit up? Actually any suggestions for anything outta the ordinary would be appreciated, restaurants, galleries etc. We're taking the kids to the museums and monuments so that's already in the works. We'll be there from 23-28, should be a good time.

I searched for a thread and couldn't find one. I didn't figure there would be much in the way of toys but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask around.

I really want to see the spy museum, hopefully the upper brass (read wife) will approve that excursion. We had a 5 Guys Burger here in town and it never impressed me, anyone else either apparently it closed over a year ago, oooof.

not to turn your family excursion thread into the east coast burger compendium, but there are 5 Guys everywhere now in PA and NJ. its a good burger, far from great. I pass an Elevation Burger on my way home from work and for a franchise, they make a far better burger than 5 Guys. People compare them to In & Out Burger, I am not a west coaster so I dunno.

I have only been to DC once and I was not old enough to remember much other than Georgetown was beautiful but if you crossed the wrong street it was mad ghetto.

I hate, HATE, five guys. Overpriced, overcooked fast food. When I moved this way everyone hyped them as in&out for the east coast, and they aren't. They also seem to have become even less flavorful over the past 2 years or so. There's an elevation burger semi near me but I haven't been to it yet. If you are in the DC area and have time Ray's Hell Burgers is the place to go, just be prepared to wait. Back to the family travel thread. ;)

Growing up in MD a teen, the Exorcist alley/stairs was a yearly Holloween visit. Good times
