I started airbrushing some of my figs today (gelationus3 ra ra ra! :D )

This weird wispy gossamer like stuff was coming out of my airbrush! :? At first I used silver and they were small so I just thought it might be dust. But then when I changed to blue is was like big strings, it was everywhere! All over the room, in my hair, even in my eyelashes!

So I'm pretty sure it's coming out of the airbrush.

    Has anyone had this experience?

    Is it the V color?

Did I not dilute it enough?

Is it coming out of my compressor?!

Here are a couple of shots of the culprits...

also the blue was really speckled (as you can see) is this normal?

    please help  thanks :D

You need to thin it more. Allways test your mix before you spray your model.

    Ok thanks JustinVancouver 8)

I diluted 75% (that half as much thinner as paint). So should I be diluting 50%?

Good to know there is nothing wrong with my compressor and this is just noobie hiccups :D

rule of thumb is 50/50. should be same consistency as milk. just thin it out until you don't see cob webs

This is a clear sign that the paint is not thinned enough. How thin depends on the color sometimes, as well as your airbrush settings. The finer the spray, the thinner the paint.

+1 and always test test test on scrap pieces before putting paint to model.
