when i think of all the great toys i played with as a kid, i always end up getting pissed off because i just remember all the great toys that i threw away. i rescued the TMNTs and a couple of other guys, but i had a bunch of 90s kaiju toys that i probably blew up with fireworks for all i know. but the one thing i really can't let go is that i used to have all the blurb balls! now that was a fucking toy. this site shows all of them as far as i can tell. http://www.ne.jp/asahi/techno/drome/toyblurpballs.htm (its in convenient japanese! and using google translation makes it sound like the guy who made the page thinks they're pretty goddamn hideous, and then at the end he rattles off a bible quote for some reason. don't know what the fuck thats about.) so i guess the question is 'has anyone else made such a silly mistake?' confide in me, your ugly little brother.
I have never heard of the Blurp Balls, but the bible thing pops up from time to time. I have seen pages going on about Masters of the Universe and various toys I grew up with. All saying these toys are the devil's work.
Dude I totally forgot about blurb balls! The 80's were truly an amazing time for toys and lately I seem to be rapidly regressing to my 8 year old self and wanting to get a hold of as much of that shit as possible. Do you remember this hot action: By sheer luck it survived my childhood and I just recently found it in my parents store room, it only had the one sucker left, and they seem pretty much impossible to find.
oh yeahhhh, i remember seeing those! there was a similar line called peashooters, that had little green guys that had guns and combat armor, you would attach a rolled up parachute and blowgun them. goodtimes.
at this years comic con, I passed a booth that has recently aquired the license to reproduce madballs. I forgot what company it was http://www.madballs.com/
madballs kick ass. i vaugely remember having one as a young lad. oh and i fucking love the secret base madball. the new ones coming out look pretty cool. kinda like they were Madball 2099.
I shudder to think of all the toys I sold way back when at garage sales my parents had...TMNT, Battle Beasts, He-Man, Transformers, MUSCLE men, etc.
