i'm not even a mecha fan and i've always loved their designs

evas are cool. a zillion times? I don't know about that. Transformers holds a special place in my heart. It would've been naive for fans to think they were going to do this movie right.
The original transformers were straight boxy robots with clean lines. That's Hollywood for you changing things to update things with a more modern look. They completely forget how timeless and classic the original designs were.
Now I read Jazz is a pontiac ,Ratchet is a Hummer, and Optimus has flames?
It's starting to sound more and more like a bad American car commercial.
C'est La Vie.

 

I would argue that the EVAs aren't mecha, but that's another thread. ;p

After seeing more concept art for these Transformers, though, I can only say: this is what you get when you get Americans to design transforming robots.

Lash - i really don't know how i feel about more movies. too many franchises are ruined by being humped to death. I would consider buying September's NewType but theres never any real info in there anyway. lol

 

I wish it was a fake, Bumblebee is based on the Alternator toy line, more realistic cars, the Optimus is a Dodge Truck, really nice toys, and really nothing from our childhood.

 

You know those little desk toys that have like 1000 little metal diamonds on a magnetic base, that you can make shapes out of? That's what Megatron looks like.

Well one high point on the film

"I wanted to let the legions of Transfans know that my Producer and I are in the studio mixing a new track for a certain upcoming live-action movie directed by Michael Bay ... I think you know the one!

It's a BIG song, with 70+ tracks at this point!

Responsible for “The Touch” and “Dare” for the original Transformers movie. I loved those songs as a kid!

from the flckr pics... bumblebee might be a dodge charger? wasnt he a VW beetle?

 

Two words sum up my expectations for this movie.....Michael Bay.....I would love to be proven wrong however........haha riiiiiiiight
