I remember seeing a play in college called Shock-Headed Peter using giant puppets and animatronics that was based off this. It was creepy as all hell.

Yeah, basically Struwwelpeter and German "fairy tales" are pretty horrific. Bottom line is; kid, keep your shit together or you're gonna get seriously fucked up. Germans don't do humor

I had this as a kid too and loved it (I still can recite some of the verses).
Looking back, it might explain a lot . . . gonna ask my parents what they were thinking.

I do not think these lack humor . . . it is just Nightmare on Elmstreet humor. For toddlers.

Haha . . . . I recently found a copy too (at a boot-sale for 50p). Mine looks a bit more tatty than yours though.

I had it when i was a kid and i loved the weirdness!

Just got a killer new Black Flag book "Barred for Life" in the post. Some great interviews and tattoos. Better than a Rush boxset.

YUP! Amazing book! Just wish the print was bigger. Sort of a tease.

My German uncle used to tell me of this Monster that was a statue by day, and at night it would come to life and grow big bushes of armpit hair so big it couldn't lower it's arms and trap little (Not necessarily BAD) kids in the tangle of pit hair. Might have been one of my Aunts he was talking about.
Germans are weird.

original hino spread. i rushed it to the framers- going to have a nice black matte to hide some of the discoloration and creases in the paper- should look really great when its all said and done
