Peeps, I set up this blog: sbmp2009.blogspot.com to feature updates and the art for the Moleskine Project. To save time, each person can update the blog on their own time with their own photos and info. All I ask is, just don't hijack the blog or post useless information and/or opinions and/or arguments, etc. The login info is: puffy.pink[at]yahoo[dot]com d1gnin!! (P.S., Jay, I used your Skullbrain banner photo. If anyone has any suggestions for another, or can shrink Jay's photo down to banner size, please let me know.)
Oh I was lucky enough to do this same project from a Moleskin Exhibition 3 years ago for TW, HK and Japan. I picked the same format to draw too!! I didn't know about this, would have loved to join.
Calvin, I think we can add you the list, as I received a PM from another Boardie who was late to the game. It will allow us to even things out--one add-on to each book. If you are still interested, follow the sign-up instructions a couple of posts prior.
Now that I think about it, I don't have Photoshop, would someone be able to shrink the picture presently being used as the banner down to a "normal" banner size? The one on the blog looks waaay to odd-shaped.
I just want to mention, because a couple people have asked: A. The list to the first two journals is closed. Sorry to anyone who found out about this late. Since there was such great interest, I am now taking names for a third book. (And yes, you can sign up again if you're already involved with the first one.) First on the list is: 1. silver_lining_man B. For those already on-board, no theme was given, so this is pretty much freestyle. In the future, if another book is started, we can maybe pre-determine a theme: like, kaiju, or monsters, or pancakes.
Another thought: as you submit your photo(s) of your contribution, edit the LAYOUT section of the blog under the heading THE NERDS. Here please include your handle, name, or business name and hyperlink your Flickr account, website, personal blog, or mother's blog.
Man I don't know how I missed this. I'm down for book 3 or if someone flakes on the first two books. 1. silver_lining_man 2. ASPrintingPress
Right, that's me done. Someone else can deal with the back grounds JAY, get your address to me and I'll send it on.
Jay has the international book. I wonder if 1 month is going to be too long? If others are like me the first 3 1/2 weeks will be spent thinking about what to draw. Could this thread get stickied as it's a project with so many board members involved?
Well, guys, I let the month open because #1) as an artist, sometimes it takes that long to think of an idea and/or get around to it; and #2) there are other things that sometimes come up in peoples' lives that might cause them to be short-changed if they had less time. It was a totally arbitrary decision. On the flip side, the month does not need to be used: you could do it right away and move it on to the next person in one day...it is up to you. (And yes kidclam, you are correct, you are to get it after Jay. As for the other book, I haven't heard anything from phantomfauna since 26 Aug.)
