I just got this! Watching it tonight! Tons of over the top violence and gore! Here's the trailer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSpCWJnnWVI
Got this last week, I thought it was really weak for what I was expecting, I really just finished it to finish it amd nothing more. I have much higher hopes for Tokyo Gore Police though.
I saw the poster that this is coming out in the theaters in Japan in August and figured I'd just get the US DVD off Amazon before that, but it's been sold out all week. Bummer. Hopefully they'll be back in stock soon!
it's backordered on Amazon for like $13. worth it? EDIT: just ordered a used one for $12. also got used Shinobi DVD. anyone seen this?
I haven't seen Machine Girl yet... although I used to get wholesale from Tokyo Shock/Media Blasters. You guys should check out Exte it's out on Region O now It's about hair gone wild Here's the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtuKpUSJ2GA
Thats the problem, it wasnt even fun. The story literally kept putting me to sleep, the action was supposed to make it fun and not give a shit about the story but it simply just lacked. I tried.
wow, i dunno what to say. the two girls were total babes too. its a dumb comedy with over the top unrealistic gore and stupid japanese stereotypes. so awesome. i'm gonna watch it again tonight.
I agree. It was pretty much what I expected. A fun movie! The chainsaw scene at the end was killer! I can't wait to see Tokyo Gore Police.
I just downloaded it to check out . . . after hearing the dubbing I just fast forwarded through it . . . glad I didn't waste an hour or so of my day watching it!
The Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police were both playing in San Francisco the past couple of weeks as part of the Another Hole In The Head film festival. I managed to miss them both because I had too many other/better things going on. Where's Mangakaben? I think I recall him telling me at the S7 anniversary party that he saw Machine Girl the night before.
Just caught this at the theater last night.... AMAZING. I couldn't believe how good everything looked (camera work, lighting, makeup) for the budget I'm sure they were working with. Dug it even more than Meatball Machine, and that's saying something... My only regret is that the director was there before the movie and I couldn't think of how to introduce myself... I'm sure I'll have another chance to meet him, though. Tokyo is actually a pretty small place when you get right down to it.
