To get this out of the toy show off...

Once again - your argument is full of shit. Anything can be used to kill, but knives, bats, cars, planes, etc all have primary functions OTHER than killing. The first knife ever made was not made to kill a person. And I HIGHLY doubt that the most common use for a knife (currently or historically) has been to kill - I think it's mostly used for food prep.
And yes, you're correct - a gun is a tool...FOR KILLING. What other use does a gun have? Unless you're Homer Simpson and use your gun to open beer bottles and turn out lights a gun has one purpose and that's to kill. Handguns and automatic weapons are specifically meant to be used against people! I can see an argument for hunting rifles and shotguns, but you don't hunt deer/duck with a .357 or an AK.
I'm not even getting into whether it's good/bad to own guns, just that the arguments for accepting them just like any other "tool" don't hold water. A handgun/automatic is meant to be used against people - that's not something to take lightly.
Also, I'm sure there's no relation to murder rate and gun ownership... What a got Carl - per capita murder in the UK must be equal to that of the US because if someone is gonna kill someone they're going to do it whether they have a gun or not, right?

As believable as anything is on the internetz . . . apparantly not.

Statistics show the USA as the 24th highest Murder rate per capita with 0.042802 per 1,000 people and the UK way down the pecking order at 46 with only 0.0140633 per 1,000 people.

If this is in no way related to the accessibility of guns then maybe it relates to how fuckin' psychotic Americans are in comparison to Brits! :D

 damn T why you gotta make me blow coffee through my nose posting pics like that!

i take it all back jaysea420, you are not ignorant at all. infact after reading your retortion its clear by your own defense you are exactly as NT said, an idiot. anyone who resorts to using shitspeak that outright insults and degrades females is not worth being a member here. FYI there are a good number of females on this board, of which i am friends with several everyone of them deserves respect. if you actually WANT to be a member here i would suggest growing some balls and offer an appology to them publically ASAP.

my own skin i reside in is as thick as a crocodile from lifes lessons so i can take anything said to me personally without a change in respiration but I ask that ALL mods and owners of this forum to privately review the facts here and make a call set an example otherwise this board may well lose INTEGRITY. If HMS was banned for his 'words' than this here idiot should not be permitted to post again based on the offensive nature his own words quoted above. he could have chose any words he wanted.. he chose to be an idiot not worth being here.

That picture certainly rests the case in the argument that the gun is an extension of the phallus.

guns, no guns, a couple guns...I don't like the "tool" argument either. that always seems to come up. someone once said to me "people hit people with cars too, so should we ban those as well?" ...OK for someone who does a lot of target shooting, you sure as hell missed the point here. If you lika-d'gun, cool--but don't try to make it sound like it's a cupholder. as a gun-lover I would expect you to have a little more respect for your "tool". I mean, try getting someone to hand over their car and wallet or their mate with a cupholder or a pair of scissors.
I think it would be nice to see some more gun control. Like if you wanted a gun for protection, maybe the gov't could issue one...nothing crazy--but we're already too deep in the muck for that, so I'm dreaming. I thought about getting one for protection at some point--but I'd sooner just get a taser or something along those lines.

I think that when you die, that's it. so I don't want to make a permanent decision about a temporary situation when it comes to another life. That's me. If you mess with me or my family I'll definitely f*ck you up though. but the way stuff goes these days with shootings and what have you I definitely think we could do some good with less of them around, or without them all together. I don't think that'll happen in my lifetime though.

so yeah, I don't necessarily want them BANNED but I would like to see some changes.

Ha ha, whatever! It's not like they're nice Strats or LPs to be proud of. (And the "LP" - at least I'm assuming it's suppose to be an LP - looks more like a Nighthawk!)

OHMYFUCKINGGOD! Seriously? I hate this board more and more. Not because someone's showing pics of guns but because it couldn't just be a simple "is not toy- does not belong" post, it had to be some long, annoying, boring social debate full of bullshit. Even in the "whatever" section it's stupid, I don't care what side of any arguments anyone is on, it's stupid. But look, it's really here, and almost totally for the purpose of arguing about it.

I also hate Guitar Hero and Rockband but it's because I'm bitter that I suck at them.

LOL!!! Are you serious? You really started a thread about this?

Since you went through the hassle of starting one I'll give it some thought and respond in a bit. I have some errands to do first though.

Hahaha...I love RB, and if I was going to SDCC, I'd meet up with people just to play it. Still no RB3 for me. I might get it just to get back into playing bass.

LOL. Yeah, I'm serious. Maybe if your argument was compelling rather than a big pile of crap I wouldn't have. I just hate really piss poor arguments - this is more about your shit argument than it is about whether I'm for or against guns (that's pretty pointless because at this point there's no going back...we're stuck with guns in the hands of the responsible, irresponsible, intelligent and idiotic).

i concur. please delete... i have no interest with issues like this creating noise in this forum. although i don't mind an occasional debate, gun issues in particular is one where both sides can be extremely passionate and i prefer it not be touched.

I have an old Ibanez Roadstar 2. I think it came out in 1984 for around $200. I got it in the early 1990's for $200 and I've had it ever since. Long hours spent tweaking the neck to my liking but I haven't picked it up in a long time. I can't even walk a scale anymore. Plus the neighbors complain when I plug in. :(
I've really been wanting a Ric but I'd end up with the same plug-in problem so my other want is a Washburn AB10.
