Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm We're likely having a robot collector's summit in the Tampa / St. Pete area on January 30th (associated with the Robot-Japan website/forum/Facebook page, but all are welcome). Anyone interested, please feel free to reach out to me for details.
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm We are getting a studio for the event. Final details are below. More info can be found at this link since the specific thread is buried in the forum (and feel free to PM me too for more specifics): http://robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/ ... 16-january Oh, and one final note, please don't shoot the messenger (me) over the presence of the Toy Hunter dude. I know most here (including myself) despised the premise of the show (though I enjoyed seeing the toys). However, he is now associated with an auction house, and a few of my friends are also appraisers for auction houses, so that is the connection.
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm This looks to be a fun time. I actually have a few robots to bring along. I hope to meet more Florida collectors as well as visit with those I haven't seen in awhile!! My favorite robots are the ones that turn into guns! or tanks!
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm Ah I already have plans with the family or I would go!
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm Family shmamily! Blow them off and come. Since they are family, they should understand. A group of us will be hanging out late (going out for dinner, etc.), so feel free to hit me up if you want to join us for that. Who knows - we might end up at some collector's homes to see their stuff.
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm Ok FLORIDA Skullbrainers tomorrow is the day to meet in St Pete Be there http://www.robot-japan.com/cache/com_zo ... 31d80e.jpg
Re: Tampa Bay Area SB party, trading, buying, selling, Nerdm Its been a whirlwind week for me (exhausting vacation trip to Universal wrapped around the event, late night business dinners, business trips, etc.). This is the first opportunity I have had to finally settle down to talk about the event. It was a great event and really worked out well. Great show that Ed organized, from Jack's killer toy display to Robby's art booth to the store and auction gallery representation. The studio was a nice location for the event, too. The best part, of course, was seeing all my fellow collectors, from old friends to new introductions. It was great to see you two again, and to meet fellow vinyl collector Chris. I was so glad to be able to chat vinyls! I sold a lot, but only managed to pick up a few items. But at least they were great pieces that I am proud to add to my collection. Quality over quantity. Oh, and if anyone has a beater Robot Fortress X available (I need parts!), please let me know. Thanks.
Anyone in FL want to have a Skullbrain Toy Meetup? - We have finished moving. We are now in Palmetto on an island. You are welcome to come over and toy chat Sign up for date and time here:
I'm just quoting this because this is an awesome sentence! Do you take any beach-front toy photography? Must be a great setting.
Ahh, thanks for the open invite, Linda. I need to see when I am next hitting your area. I would love to check out the new setup.
It’s been a long time but we are bringing these back full force! Planning for May 27th and have 6 confirmed so far
