A lot of cultures believe eating or drinking out of skulls lets you absorb peoples "mana". Sounds a little magic the gathering. Some polynesian dude was telling me this when he saw my tiki mug collection at my house, he came over with some of my friends, very creepy dude. The new banner rocks, make that skull into a ceramic mug, bag it and have the banner as a header and slang them at SDCC, that would be sweet.
When my friends and I used to play the card game, we thought it was funny that the company had co-opted the term from the native Hawaiian usage.
