Damn Frank, what's your fascination with things being gay? I can't tell if you're homophobic or gay and trying to overcompensate to hide it. Either way your comments are lame.

He could mean gay as in happy. Like from the Flinstones theme. "Gay ol' time"

What about Egay in his first post on this thread? He's also made few other comments, check the original pickle suprise thread and pickle suprise wasn't the original name he had for it, something to do with the gay pride parade if memory serves. . .

I posted with this definition in mind, lame: lacking needful or desirable substance : WEAK, INEFFECTUAL <a lame excuse>, not quite the same as your use of the word gay.

Frank, you're a leader in this community and people do follow your lead, I don't think you need to make members on this board uncomfortable with these sorts of comments, coz the sheep will follow.

    for the record:

    I am not a homophobe.

so u can all relax. I dont really hate anyone, unless they have proven to be total fucking asshats in my real life. I think im a relatively upfront and honest person, hell i don't even use a fake name on the internet.

If anyone has a 'real problem' with me, I'm always happy to work it out in person.

I think we are all adults here and can regulate our own speech with out having the need for other people moderating it...

not that I don't appreciate where you are coming from locomoto566...
I just think people can speak the way they want. It's people's intent that matters, and clearly Frank's was to be funny not hateful or serious.

Frank is using gay as in 'lame', a definition recently popularized over the past 10 years or so. See the band Anal Cunt for reference sake. Sort of like how I see a fair amount of hispanics and anglos call each other the n-word in public.
We don't need a discussion of new urban language or in/out group dynamics do we?
