I never see this Ninja Arashi villain pop up but I guess that why it went for some big coin (for a mini).

In other news, ironic that I asked "need new buying service" thread to get deleted because today my buying service announced they were in the process of shutting down. Sad that TB is closing :(

That guy is pimpin' that gold chain :) . Great villain, but yeah, crazy expensive for a mini figure.

Sorry to hear about TB. I didn't get any notice from them which is strange, but I did have a payment get refunded. I am still hoping to get my backlog of packages from them.

You talking about TokyoBuyers? I have a ton of stuff still sitting in Japan, and I was planning on completing a few more purchases over the next few days. I just spoke with him this morning, and he did not mention anything.

Well this is what I got in my email this morning from Tokyo Buyers. I'm cutting and pasting it for everyone:

We are sorry, but we decided to scale down, and shut down eventually ,our business as we cannot handle requests with fewer staff.
Thank you very much for your support of our business for a long time. We really appreciate it.

    Damn, that sucks.

Now why did you request that the service thread be deleted?

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

Tell me about it I'm without a service now. I'm sure they'll send out whatever they have though, I don't think anyone has to worry.

I asked for that thread to be deleted because people kept making suggestions to me through it and I had resolved my issues with TB. Everything was running smoothly. I didn't expect this at all. Then today I get that email after requesting the thread to be removed yesterday. Talk about bad timing!

Ive never seen these guys before. Yonezowa pachi bobble heads. Obvious influence for the Zollmen minis. Does anyone know anything more about these? The box art is ridiculously awesome. Not cheap, ¥457k and ¥445k respectively

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

I was watching those as well Jonathan. Peter sent me the links. Ever since Zollmen made them into minis I've casually looked for them on YJA, never seeing any come up. I often wondered if they did what they would go for, and now I guess I have my answer (will always be out of my price range lol). Nice to see them complete with the box artwork. Now these are definitely some toys that need to be remade with the original box art. I'd buy them in a minute!

Yeah I would love to see something like this remade as well, it is always the crazy unknown stuff that looks the best. Even just for some minis or non-bobble head issues made with those boxes, I would be all over them. Those vintage ones are actually something I could see spending money on (okay, well maybe not that much).

Just a quick follow up on those Yonezawa Nodders, I noticed CKA posted this pic a few weeks ago:

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

I seriously doubt it will get to Medicom but I did email them that same pic, and asked/suggested that they try and reproduce them. They've done Devilman, several other Yonezawa toys, Triton of the Sea now, why not right? Not many people can afford the originals, and if they made them full size with the original boxes, well let's just say they would be a hit.

Just from looking at the Zollmen mini productions, either someone is very talented at free hand reduction sculpting or used software with input from the originals.

On behalf of us all, thank you Lixx! :)

I agree with the Zollmen minis. While I am sadly not lucky enough to own any of them (hint, hint, if anyone is reading this) the sculpting is very true to the originals, and deserves some recognition. There are just so many great pachi monsters out there.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

Those Yonezawa toys are more than just bobble-heads- they are mechanical; I think the plate beneath the feet vibrates when a key on the back is turned, which also causes the heads to bob. I wonder why these are so desirable, when you can find most of Yonezawa's other mechanical vinyls for less than $100.

The interesting thing about those photos is that they show the product nos. for the bobbles: 232, 233 and 234. Assuming Yonezawa numbered their products sequentially in order of production, that would put them in the middle of the production order. The rolling friction vinyls (Dabura, Kurada and Sebira) were the lowest-numbered (202, 203 and 204), followed by the larger walking/sparking vinyl King Dragon (207), followed by the bobbles, and ending with the more common walking/sparking vinyls (Gimegon, Gomera, Todora, and the larger King Gomera) which are numbered in the 800s.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

    Got this back from Medicom:

Thank you for your support for the sofbi figures and thank you for your inquiry.
We are sorry but we cannot give you our future releasing plans.
We will give out our release informations on our website and blog so please check them for new item informations.

Pretty generic answer and I completely understand they don't want to give anything away, but at least it wasn't a no.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

Yeah, I wouldn't expect them to give much away either, but I think at least this way they have noted the interest for these on their radar now, and given how well (it seems) all the other vintage re-issues have been selling, and Medicom's clear interest in this type of stuff, I would say anything is possible.

Just got the fresh Hyper Hobby for June.
All three are shown in one spread.
New style, more like shampoo bottle style, no mech.
    VERY nice.

Oh wow thanks for the info Paul! So they're not as big as the originals but definitely bigger than the Zollmen minis? Maybe U.S. Toys shampoo bottle size? Very excited! Way to go Medicom!

    I dunno.
    These look exact to me.
The zollmen minis were "simulations" in mini size.
These might be cast off the originals I'm thinking.

Re: strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre o

Yeah, actually looking at the CKA pic I posted above, they do! Awww man I can't believe these are being made. Hopefully they will be available overseas. That email reply I got from them gave me hope, but now I'm over the moon. Medicom is really turning out some great vintage reproductions lately. I mean things that are really hard to find, and if you do super pricey. The Triton vinyls, and now hopefully the Yonezawa Nodders. I wonder how they're able to get all these original molds?

:o This is some fantastic news. I am really blown away now. Medicom has been doing fantastic work with these vintage re-issues and seeing these Yonezawa nodders materialise will really make my year for toy releases. I don't know how much your email contact contributed to this Lixx, and I don't want to know, I extend my hand and tip my hat to you sir, as far as I am concerned this might as well be thanks to you. I am really happy to see these guys, and have to start saving up the cash now.
