Bullmark Return of Ultraman ended at 280000 yen, I've never seen this before. Does anyone here know more details about this?

Anyone know more about this Choujin Bibyun Bashan? I was under the impression it was a middle size figure but looks like it could be bigger... smaller than standard though. Hard to tell really with no information or scale reference.

Cute little fella, but crazy price!

EDIT: Upon further inspection it appears to be a middle size Bullmark. I found another specimen with a substantially different paint application. Perhaps this one is much harder to come by (definitely nicer looking).

I know this is not rare, but the price seems a little weird. This is a repacked one, missing the omake and ads. And you can see there is some paint peeling through the bag.

So, that Marusan flesh vinyl Gyango from back in April was mind-altering and completely new to me (thank you @Mark K), but I am surprised that no one posted the Marusan pink vinyl Garamon sealed in bag with header from the same seller. Perhaps all of us were so stunned by the Gyango that it was just too much to even speak of the ridiculous lot of dead stock toys with their original Marusan bags that this seller put up for auction. The toys were so pristine they looked to be fresh from the factory floor. What an amazing group of toys to watch pass by. It's been a wild year from some of these dead stock collectors/sellers:

I thought it was a color variant of the middle size figure I’d seen as the sculpt is so similar but this auction noted its scale to be standard size at 22cm. Definitely a nice model, but I’ll settle for Medicom’s offering.

 

I bid for that Bashan, but failed...Really lovely figure.

I had my eye on that one. Awesome figure and in beautiful condition! Not sure about the price or if it’s on par with recent sales but doesn’t seem too bad relative to other figures of this size/nature.

Wow! Is that typical for the Marusan version? I have the Bullmark and an Orange / Ark versions, but I'd love to get a Marusan version at some point as I love the paint scheme........!

 

Marusan Goro, the 2nd issue, ended at 186,000 yen, which imo is a good price, for there are still some silver paints remained on it.

But the strange thing is this same item has already been auctioned once before, at which it ended at 241,000 yen.

That is the highest I remember for the first edition Galban, but that is also the nicest condition example I think I have ever seen. It all depends on condition. If you don't mind a broken or missing antennae/horn, then one could be picked up for ~5k yen, but complete examples with nice paints seem to go for 100-250k yen. An example without any broken horns but some heavily worn paints sold for 35k yen recently.

 

There was a vintage glow Ghostron that I bid on last week, I was nowhere near the ending price because I can't compete with these Scarface types who PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT:

Lately there appears to be a trend of big-ticket items like this being relisted, sometimes only a couple of days after closing. I'm not sure what to think of it. People feeling buyer's remorse and not paying up? Shill bidders winning the initial auction?

 

@HBCoffin I found that too. Either way this kind of suspicious auction will keep me from bidding.

@Roger I also saw that auction, but I have little knowlege about vintage GID stuff. Is there any of them can still glow in the dark now? or otherwise, do all of them have lost their GID effect, just like this Ghostron?

 

I don't know. I've never handled one. Maybe someone else who owns one can weigh in.

 

They definitely still glow, just not as strong or for as long as modern gid toys. You can also see the glow pigment more clearly suspended in the vinyl of the ones I’ve handled in person.

 

Anyone know more about this Kikaider 01? Digging through images on the internet and 10 years worth of auction history I couldn't find another specimen with those black lines painted on. Is it a legitimate variant or perhaps painted on by the original owner? I'm thinking the latter.
