strange or rare yahoo auctions post here (after theyre over)

Anyone know more about this Popy Inazuman? Seems like a good deal, but I honestly have no idea. My knowledge of the Japanese vintage toy market is limited.

Regardless, it's a great looking Inazuman and the condition is nice.

Not really a great deal. Thats not the mask that goes with him. I think thats a later henshin cyborg costume one.

 

Ah, thank you! I was having trouble trying to find another Popy figure with a mask like that. You're right, it looks like the Henshin Cyborg mask... not a terrible fit though.

 

The body on that one is in great shape though. The metallic red tends to fade. Heres the OG mask.

What are these Ma-Ba figures? I have seen them for a while now but I have no idea about their backgrounds!

Im no expert, but can someone inform my as to why that Marusan no-stamp Godzilla went for so much? Is no stamps really that rare?

 

If you refer to this Goji, the high price is not so much because of the lack of stamps, it is because of the shape of the tail which is known as J-tail, this means that the figure was made with the first mold of Marusan, later figures they no longer came out with the J-shaped tail, the theory is that at some point the mold broke and they had to make the angle of the tail more open.

Can anyone weigh in on which is the most rare and/or sought after version of the standard Godzilla?

 

@Robert D - the Marusan lime green vinyl with metallic blue and silver sprays seems to be one of the most rare examples. The factory run must have been very small of something like 500 pieces or less as they seem to be almost non-existent at this point. I have only seen three known examples but there might be more out there in deep collections or still waiting to be discovered. Here is a photo of one of them:



There are a few other small variant runs on light blue or turquoise vinyl that are also very rare and tend to bring out the collectors, but I would say the lime green is at the top of the list.

That silver spray Marusan was in very nice condition. It was also quite interesting with uniform sprays on the torso and even down both sides of the tail. Such a pristine example like that is very rare and difficult to find.

@HBCoffin Cool! They dont come up too often .. especially these ones, they are the first editions before Popy started using the red logo. the later vintage releases have a pink header

 

Wow... neat! Thanks for the info. I did notice the red Popy logo I'm familiar with missing. Taking a closer look, the letter "P" of the English font logo looks very similar to that used for Plex—another Bandai subsidiary.

Late to post... I've been on a bit of a Robot Detective kick lately so I had my eye on this Bandai. The price seemed a little high when compared to recent closings so I dropped out well before the end. The overall condition is nice though. Hope I can get my hands on one in the future. I'd gladly settle for another hatless specimen. I really love the childish nature and level of detail on this particular model.

Right now there are two auctions up for a Bullmark giant size Micras. One looks legit and started very low. Another started at one million yen but has no pictures. Opinions?
