Can anyone recommend a Hostel or cheap places to stay near Super7 during Toxic Catalyst show this weekend?
tomo hotel's close to the current location[redacted], but toxic catalyst will be at their new haight location. still[/redacted], tomo hotel is awesome in every way.
jeff, meet me at the new store on Haight and i'll give you my HP Cococroc. see you there at 8pm tonight. bring me two tacos and a diet coke cause I'll be hungry.
sweet...! say hello to Alex and Josh when you get there. They framed that picture of the fudge damnedron coming out of your pants. We were hoping you could autograph it. It's in the back of the store on the right. see you tonight.
sadly, i don't think a trip out to sf is in the cards for this year. definitely next year, though, although i don't know for which event yet. as for what to do -- since super7 is still located right in the heart of japan town, there are more things to do and see and taste all within walking distance than you'd have time for in one visit! have fun!
last time i was there they had kikaida playing 24/7 on multiple screens in the lobby! fun place, perfect location, great rooms. i will definitely be staying there again on my next trip out there.
There any other decent hotels in the area? I'm planning a trip to the sf area in about a month too. Thing is it's been years since I travelled or booked a hotel. The place Kirk mentioned looks nice but I'd like to know if there's any place I can find I better deal I.e. CheAper... I just plan on sleeping at the hotel not spending much time hanging out, so it doesn't need to be fancy, you know?
Hotel Tomo is pretty cheap for SF I think. We paid $80-95 a night, I don't recall. Everyone has a cheapness relativity scale, but I don't know if I'd test lower than that in SF (or any major city). Tomo isn't anything fancy, but it is pretty well situated for japantown and getting around the city as well. Plenty of buses run along the streets nearby and you can get anywhere touristy without too much hassle. I can only think of one other hotel in that area that I noticed, the name escapes me...Nikko maybe? That one was a bit more pricey than tomo.
Yeah looking into it tomo doesn't seem expensive, but like I said it's been about ten years since I took a vacation so I have no idea about prices and I just want to be sure I'm maximizing my money. Gotta be able to buy something from super7 when I get there. You know?
the only other thing cheaper than $90 for a hotel in SF would either be a Hostel, YMCA or a flophouse in the tenderloin. and if I wasn't married with kids and a mother-in-law, you guys would be staying with me at my house.
You guys can always post the link to the hotel so we know the location and then, we can say yea or nay.
