but of course they just skip all that and just email you. In which case you should reply back with a questionnaire to see if they actually read it ;)

To clarify further (for Evom or anyone else) - we view this board and collectors here as much more of a community than just a place to talk. In doing so, we try to help out our fellow collectors as much as possible.

In the case of the lucky bags, lots of people missed out on the opportunity to get a bag. Conversely, a lot of the people who got bags did not want everything contained in the bag. Most everyone then passed on the goodwill in the BST by offering the things they did not want out of their bags at roughly the retail equivalent instead of heading to ebay for top dollar. In doing so, everyone wins, and usually that goodwill comes back when you miss something later on. In the case of the Lee custom in question, it is perfectly fine that it is "not your thing", but the negative reaction is due to the inflated price on the bay compared to the purchase price vs. offering it up on the board to the other collectors at a fair price first. As someone who is new you have less of a relationship with the folks here, I understand that this may not be as obvious as it could be, but it does actually work out, and you will find that folks will be eager to help out one another for the fun and love of the hobby, and far less about the relative "worth" or "rarity" of the toys. If you don't want it, one of your friends most certainly does. By setting it up with a high start price on ebay, essentially puts the profit motive in front of your friends. As hard as it may seem to see, that is what we are really trying to do on the board -treat each other as friends and level the playing field.

Just a way of collecting to think about that is not reflected in other places as much.

So there's meant to be 7 figures in a Lucky Bag, right? Mine just arrived via V-Kingz and I've got six...Gator, pocket Gator, Holliboy, Power Mister, Milton, Mongolion. I guess i'm missing a Mummy Boy?

Glenn i've sent you an email :)

I do apologize again and will pick up quickly on how things are done around here. I've only recently found out about this place and the bay was really my only spot to sell or buy toys. I tried to put it up for what i thought was an average price for a custom, not trying to rip anybody off at all.

I blew this off initially, gave my snide commentary and tried to ignore it, but am willing to try and give additional perspective if you're interested. It's not that it's a bad price. I often charge considerable more. It's how you went about it.
FYI, though not advertised, I usually give a good discount and hook up on pricing for established SB members w/ commissioned work.
S7 supports me and I in turn try to help out the SB community where I can.
You have to understand I gave S7 a heavy discount so they could afford to put a couple pieces in the bags.
As such S7 passed on a deal, an the community expects to keep the deal going on things you don't want.
You'll see lots of great deals in the sales forum here as people try to help each other out. Ebay is usually only used as a last resort after folks have passed. Otherwise the community here won't touch it and admittedly I've helped a few people here who contacted me and were interested. You don't have to give stuff away, but I have often been able to buy things BELOW retail from kind folks who knew how badly I wanted a certain piece!!! This is a great place once you figure it out and as much as I rag on it for it's usual attack dog mentality on new folks, that attitude exists to minimize things like the current rash of nonsense from some of the recently arrived board members.
Give the place some respect, read as much of existing threads as possible, ask questions when in doubt and you'll be fine! Believe me this place is worth the effort. My two cents.

Thanks for the tips from everyone, like i said before I had no idea about this place before and wouldnt have even trusted to put things on here, and definitely didn't know about pricing, from the inside or the outside. Especially since I was on markupBay and judged from that. I'll definitely be paying attention and learning the ways of the SB.

Hey there's a thread around here somewhere, where Brian called you a "grumpy old man".
An I have to wait until this Sat. to have my beer. I like to think I'm drinking up all of Glenn's wages.

No worries. Thanks for your honesty and ability to listen to other peoples opinions and respond respectfully. Considering how you have handled this you might have a thing or two to teach some of the old timers....
