I'm not hating or anything but man, you can do something more original than this... artists should innovate, not be derivative.

I mean, what if someone posted on a board they were making a bootleg 3 foot tall labbit? Even if you didn't care they were cashing in on your idea, you'd probably be disappointed they couldn't think of some concept of their own.

and after all, Pogue declared 2007 the year of the micro.

Frank, just curious. Since you put "bootleg" in quotation marks, I'm not clear about how "official" this release is.

Did you get the go-ahead from the copyright holder to do this? From your previous posts, it sounded like that was really important to you (and to Super7, considering all the recent drama about customs).

I might be interested in this piece (waiting to see the production sample first), but only if it's officially licensed.

Im not doing this out of artistry, its actually an object I want for myself. I figure if I make 1 I could make some more for other people that wanted it since a mold would exist....which is why I asked. I like giant pieces but can not really drop 5 grand one on of those giant kanegons or those killer ones that one dude makes.

Just call it "Zagg" than it's not a bootleg :D . Or "Gz" or "Big Ass Monster." Any sketch pics yet of your take on it?

Put a big damn cigar in its mouth then no one can complain about "licensing" concerns. Sounds like this is probably in the public domain for the US now anyway unless the Garagamel sculpt or specific name is used. The low production also lends toward that.

Frank, don't let anyone discourage you for doing it. Just make the fucking thing - I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

How's about lime green, hot pink and silver for the paint scheme - the colors on those giant marmit bootlegs you mentioned look awesome (BTW - I asked that artist how much they cost - it's something like $6k a piece).

Here's another suggestion, use Glow paint for the eye, a single, huge glowing eye!

Even better yet - how about a giant eye that lights up - not like the CCP hedorahs but how about using an LED that can switched off and on. Or how about a laser - you could then use him as a line-level.
