What's up, Bay Area crew? I was big into sofubi back when I lived in Chicago, but fell out of it (by necessity) when I moved to China for a few years. I've had a lot of PMs come through this week, reminding me that this is actually a thing... and now that I live in SF, I figured I'd at least pop in and at least say hello. So "Hello."
Welcome (back)! Despite my ill conceived and short-sighted screenname and Spatula City designation I assure you I live in the Bay Area, North Bay to be specific. Hoping for a post COVID Bay Area event to get us all together in the not too distant future.
As much as hate crossing the Bay Bridge (or even just trying to drive through downtown), any reason to hit up Almanac Brewing in Almeada is worth it. And if there's beer involved, all the more reason to Uber. xD
Hey hey Bert! Didn't know you were in the Bay Area... super cool. Can't wait for the chance for everyone to get together!
Would love to meet fellow collectors while I am still around. And speaking of brewery in the East Bay, I recommend going to check Skinner new mural for the new Ghost Town Brewery location in Oakland.
I feel like I've seen Ghost Town Brewing... not sure I've picked any up, though. I feel like breweries here crank out new "releases" every week, which is really just a new label on some very similar beers (not that I'm complaining, they're good beers), so I tend to lock in on a particular one and ride it out until the shop up the street stops carrying them. Humble Sea is doing some nice foggy IPAs, but I'll always circle back around to Bare Bottle for their stouts.
