the skullpirate bandana was made with a discharge ink (that is why
it is visible on both sides), and has not been washed. hence the nice
fishy pirate odor. to take out the smell and the stiffness, wash the bandana
in cold water with plenty of fabric softener (best if done in a machine
washer). either hang out to dry or tumble dry at low temperature, to avoid
any shrinkage. when finished, it will have a nice soft feel.

I washed mine in the kitchen sink yesterday with hand soap. a funny thing happened, two of the corners stuck together and when I peeled them apart they remained tacky. So much in fact that it is still stuck to the wall (with no tape). I think that the ink may have stuck together. So, if you plan on washing it, lay it flat until dry.

there's so much perpetual funky shit in the air here in Brooklyn that the bandana actually smelled good!
