Whaaaaaaaa...? But...the BEER!!! I guess Widmer's, Weinhard's, and Rogue will all have to move up here, then. Is that seriously being considered, though?
how would that work with the breweries there? they can make the beer but not sell it? we don't have dry counties, but we do have dry towns here in MA.
Just kidding, folk! But seriously, our economy can't handle anymore new residents. So, unless you're bringing a large corporation with you to supply jobs to all our jobless just wait until things turn around before making the move. I'm not against transplants, but... http://www.ohsu.edu/research/rda/forms.shtml#coir
'Tis true....WA has ALOT, but OR definitely has the edge. You play with my beer, you play with my emotions!
CA is certainly doing a fabulous job driving the entertainment industry out of the state. Not only are they refusing to add any tax incentives for the industry, they're beginning to revoke ones previously in place. Hell, in reference to sub-industries within the entertainment industry it's no overstatement to say that the visual effects industry is fleeing CA. And there's no single proposition that has landed CA in this position but rather a painful series of them. Add to that the required 2/3 vote to pass a frickin' budget and you've got 30 years of accumulated mismanagement hurtling CA into a smoking crater. I lived in the Los Angeles for the last 8 years but recently moved. I've got good friends that I miss dearly and would love a scenario that would allow me to move back. I sadly don't think it's a possibility, though. A complete overhaul of the state's constitution might be a good start, but I just don't see how CA recovers at this point. -- jJ
I have been unemployed here for way too long in LA, my governors a douche, I have no car and a crappy bus system to use... but I love this place! art shows, bands, girls, toys, food..medical herbs.
Haha, I was waiting for the "FUCK YOU CA, STAY AWAY!" response. I'm not some bum that'll drag down the unemployment system, I'm actually employable! Plus 0% sales tax > 8-9%.

And I'm definitely waiting until the economy picks up. I have a decent gig now, I'm not leaving until it's easier to get a job where I want.
