I had some free time before winter vacation started here in Japan, and for some unexplained reason, I sketched a combination of a spider and a shinkansen (bullet train). I then started to debate whether I should try to sculpt it entirely with sculpey, make a cast and use resin, or to try and make a plush toy. I decided on a plush toy, and drew up some very basic plans for making it. In less than a week, I went from a poor sketch, to a finished product. I present to you, my Shinkansen Spider.
