in your opinion? we have some ideas of stuff we want to do, but I want to hear other peoples' recommendations of what's good so we can make up an itinerary.

p.s. - we like touristy stuff, and don't have that aversion to those things like many travelers seem to, so feel free to recommend things like that as well.

Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach (Double Punch a.k.a. Ning is down there) and right next to North Beach is Chinatown.

Super7 is located in Japantown, so there things to see there also, check the hardware store down the street they've got cool shit.

^^Yeah, but dont get confused and go to Richmond,if you do,bring a vest.

Also if you go to union square and the big shopping area, you can take the trolley to Ghiradeli(sp)square and get some chocolate, then wal a bout a half mile to Fishermans warf.

Get the city pass. You can get them at the visitors office in union square or at the fishermans warf. It covers you for a week of unlimited travel on all of the public transportation systems, which has to be one of the better run systems in the country. Plus if you love the cable cars like I do it's awesome to hop on those and whip all over the place.

Plus if you plan to go to the museums is has passes for the SFMoMA and De Young. It costs like 45 a piece and is well worth it.

They also have 3 and 7 day transit only passes.

Oh and Super 7 is a good place to stop if you like that kind of stuff
    ;)

he's right. i'm 40% excited about toys, 60% excited to dork out on books, get my picture at Jack Kerouac st. Sign, and possibly have a heart attack at the unlikely prospect of running into Lawrence Ferlinghetti or Diane Di Prima.

Go on to Opentable and make some reservations...S.F. has some of the best restaurants in the world.

If you have some time, take a 45 minute drive to Napa and check out the wineries.

On the Alcatraz front, make sure you book at LEAST a few days before you want to head across. The day or day before is a no go. We booked a month out this time round. It is definitely worth doing for sure.

Cool you're geed up for City Lights Missy.
