    SCUD the Disposable Assassin
I thought that I would share my latest pin-up and cover that I created for Scud the Disposable Assassin. Back in December, Rob Schrab asked me to do a pin-up for the the SCUD Omnibus that will be coming out in June from Image Comics. It was really great to work with Rob and get to draw his character again.

The black and white version I created below, was heavily inspired by Ultraman photos and illustrations of the past. The girl at the bottom of the illustration is the "Cheerleader" character that I created, and have included in so many of the pin-ups of SCUD that I have done in the past.

After Rob received this illustration, he asked me if I would create a color version for the reprint issue of SCUD #21. I was really excited to do a cover illustration again. It has been over 10 years of since I had illustrated a cover for a comic since moving into advertising field. I thought that I should redraw the cheerleader girl as "Black Octopus" from the SCUD series to make the cover a little more relevant to what was going on in the last 4 issues to be released. If you are a fan of the SCUD series, and have read the past 20 issues, there is a point in the story where Black Octopus is forced at gun point to remove her pants........ that is why she isn't wearing any in my illustration. I just couldn't pass on the opportunity to draw her without any pants on.

Please be sure to pick up the newest issues of SCUD at your local comic store.

    Thanks for looking.

Very cool! I'm loving the splatter effect running down from the border in the color cover.

SCUD would have been a perfect henchman in an old tokusatsu show (since he is disposable, after all). If you ever get another crack at him a Shocker theme would be tight!
