Loco, ya beat me to it, I was just editing coming soon!

    Yes, it was a shocker.

Atleast my personal top two were in the top two, but those boys should have taken Dilana...Lukas looks great, sounds good (usually, tonite he sounded like shit) and his original song was the best (IMO), but Dilana was way the better singer, and a more interesting choice. But, people said they'd never take a chick - and I think thats been borne out.

I predict Lukas burn out. He was drunk during the Saturday shoot we went to, he was fun, and a rad guy, but I think he may end up being a rock n roll casualty, I mean this guys don't want another Scott Weiland (in terms of history that is)...altho I hope I am proven wrong. Dilana could have rocked that job with aplomb...hopefully she will make a mark with her album and some decent songwriting...altho based on SuperNova's lacklustre original, Gilby CLarke's writing skills need to be buoyed up if he co-writes on her record.

I loved this show, totally invested and glued to it tonite. All of them sounded a bit worse for wear, imagine the pressure? The end of this show means my reality show viewing is back to 0%.

So, rock on Lukas! And Dilana - you were robbed!!!

    I am so disappointed.

When I first heard about this show, I was going against the grain by not assuming that the band members were sell outs. I was hoping that these guys all from classic bands would have picked a serious, dangerous rock and f**king roll singer, prove the haters wrong and bring the serious rock.

Instead they got some emo goofball. We'll see them on the Middle Of The Road tour with Matchbox 20 soon enough.

    Dilana got robbed big time.

As much as Lukas was a douchebag, he was overall a better choice than Dilana. His writing skills were a lot better and based on his rearrangements of the cover songs, he has an intimate understanding of writing a hook. It was clear that he had the chops and experience of working in a band situation. Dilana, while a good singer didn't have these traits. In the end, i think their choice was the one that made sense. Lukas could contribute in ways Dilana couldn't. Choosing bandmates is like choosing roommates... do you wanna pick one that will pay the rent on time, or do you want one that will pay the rent on time and also knows how to cook?

I've dealt with a lot of bands in my work and Lukas is also the very stereotype of the singer. Besides the 'get drunk and party' persona, he was also vain, always knew he was right and was lazy. He also knew that people would let it slide because he was good at what he did. I hate his type, they're lame and they get away with murder, just ask Vince Neil.

Super Nova is CRAP anyways ! They will probably make a bunch-o-moola and call it quits. Hooray for Hollywood. In my personal opinion anyone who thinks they actually play good music scares me. Just more throw away itunes to warble your poor little brains. LOL

    Oh yeah,Hey MUTON, I can't believe i'm reading this crap - :D

I can't believe that Tommy and Jason are wasting their time on this...Gilby yes, but T & J??

I hope they can cook up some better material, or their inevitable album will go straight to the discount bin...I thought Dilanna was the best choice also...never liked Lukas' persona...

Am I the only one here who thinks the entire show was fixed? From the first episode I said that Lukas was going to win because of his attitude, look, and persona. I also think he is terrible. His voice is so annoying and his performances are way over the top. The show was a carbon copy of last season. The guy that everyone hated at first becomes the nice guy and then starts getting more praises from the band, the low and behold... becomes the next lead singer. Same thing happened with JD who now sings for INXS. Supernova needed as much publicity as they could get in order to get anyone listen to their cheesy songs.

Did anyone notice Lukas's reaction when he was chosen...Exactly...there was none, except for sticking out his tongue like a douche rocket.

mmmm...hot topic vomit! the whole "Rock Star" thing is just a television diversion anyway...what ever happened to "our band, INXS"? they got a song about Vegas on a show about Vegas..and then fell back into the world of the good bands that lost a key member and couldn't keep on going...

my prediction is that "supernova" will be a black hole in under a year...then again, I also predicted that Clay Aiken would mercifully disappear after one record...television culture is a weird maker of stars, for certain...

thanks for that Jessie :) So which female singer do u admire, I'd be interested to know?

Hah ha, the Hot Topic comment is valid, but as far as voice goes you are entitled to your opinion ( liking music is entirely subjective after all). I will stick by my opinion that she's an amazing singer and performer based on multiple tapings I've attended, having sung in a few bands myself, and having attended atleast a 1000+ shows in the last 25 years.

Totally agree about SuperNova's material, every original has sucked - and I guess Tommy and Jason are in it for the money (obviously). But every episode Jason shows where his heart is by wearing that Voi Vod shirt. He's the one I'm most surprised about. I didn't see a single episode of the first show, to me INXS could never replace Hutchence, and shouldn't even try, so I can't comment.

But Fuck it, I don't care how uncool this makes me, I'm happy to say I enjoyed this show. I don't watch much TV, but this was the FUN TV event of the summer for me - going to tapings was a blast, and I mixed with people I would never normally interact with, so that was fun too.

totally man, i was surprised that they'd let him wear that shirt amidst all the product placement and stuff. My guess is he convinced them it was just some words on a shirt and nothing else.

I wouldn't say the show was fixed but logically, the band makes the choice every week for who stays and leaves. The 'power of voting' by the public doesn't truly mean anything other than governing the time as to when someone left.

i like females who can actually hit a note, or at least have their own style, patsy cline, connie francis, billy holiday, hope sorvidal...but this is supposed to be a rock show i mean none of these girls will ever be wendy O williams, and lucass will never be iggy pop. i am a metal head at heart and dilana's fake as fuck rock n roll style shit makes my stomach turn.

like i said i am pretty well convinced the whole thing is a giant joke, you can see gilby and jason laughing out loud then when they ask them, they are like BEST PROFORMANCE EVER!

Is that Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star you were referring to? I saw them a couple of times, once in a church in Islington - such an awesome venue. Also saw Sparklehorse play a most memorable gig at the same place.

Anyway, I can't comment on who most female rock performers aspire to, but Wendy O (howabout Joan Jett, she rules!) seems like an unlikely choice. From porn to punk to suicide; what a sad lonely demise it seemed at the end? But, I still have my marbled vinyl 7" somewhere in the UK, can't remember the song (as it was totally unmemorable), but I do remember that it was advertised as the band members having recorded it in separate rooms, without any knowledge of what the others were playing - mmmm, excellent results. I personally think that Gene SImmons producing that solo album probably didn't help her mindset, imagine having to deal with that every day?

wendy was a fucking nut but she was pure rock and roll, i referenced her to show that you don't nessarily have to be a song bird to be a great female singer in a band. i'm glad she wasn't my mom but shit that I FART A LOT was punk as fuck.

lucas is not only retarded but his ego is bigger than his big ugly head haha
