To go with the M10X data base I put in the thread "let's see a time travelin barefoot cosmosman database" Here is a Robotman Data Base. There are an endless number of other products featuring Robotman's image (video games, colorforms, shoes, magazines, manga, us comics, menko cards, etc etc etc), way to many to try to even attempt to track. The focus of this list is the toys and some other interesting key products. Feel free to add missing stuff: Takara Vintage: Robotman Victory Project Version: Came Boxed With Paper Craft vehicle attachments Robotman Microman Release: Same Toy No Paper parts Robotman Bulldozer Set: Parts to turn Robotman into a bulldozer Robotman Drill Set: Parts to turn Robotman into a drill tank Robotman Gakeen: Not the same character but a Robotman that looks like Gakeen Robotman Mechadon: Weird flesh headed Geag Character Micro Robotman Green: Microman sized Robotman Micro Robotman Yellow/Blue: Microman sized Robotman Micro Robotman Blue/Red: Microman sized Robotman Micro Mechadon: Microman sized version of the weird Geag character Robotman 2: Gets a helmet head and upgrade parts and some color changes Robotman God Fighter: Gets a new helmet head and more new upgrade parts and some color changes Osato Microman Vintage: Robotman Vinyl Red Chest Robotman Vinyl Blue Chest Takara Microman Repro: Robotman Repro SAS Robotman: Robotman in Black and Dark Chrome color Crystal Robotman: Hyper Hobby Mail Away, clear color with new inner head Robotman Robotman Choro Q Bus: Japan Robot Lab Exclusive Robotman Vinyl Solid version Robotman Vinyl Clear Color Version Takara SCF Series 2 Robotman Bonus Figure Takara SCF Series 2 Clear Robotman Bonus Figure Takara Microman 99: Robotman Ace: red all new magnemo smaller size Robotman Baron: black all new magnemo smaller size Robotman Cross: blue all new magnemo smaller size Ghost Robotman: clear version of Ace all new magnemo smaller size Clear Robotman Ace: clear red version of Ace all new magnemo smaller size Robotman Dean: All new magnemo Robotman Endeavor: All new Magnemo Super Robotman Dean and Endeavor TRU Set: Both big new Robotman toys together in new colors Yujin Microman: Robotman Gashapon Robotman SAS-SS Gashapon: Same Gashapon in Black and Dark Silver color scheme World Character Convention Exclusive Gargamel Microman: Robotman Ring Base 2x0 Robotman Ring: Robotman ring with 2x0 stamp Wonderfest 1 day (there are countless more but here are a few key pieces): Microman Military Force Robotman costume Unreleased Micro Robotman chested repro figure Hyperdrive Robotman: Sashida Wonderfest All Chrome Robotman Mego Micronaut Vintage: Biotron: basically Robotman Phobos: Robotman with a new 2 face head done in red and black Ben Cooper Micronaut Vintage: Biotron Halloween Costume Unknown Micronauts Vintage: Biotron Iron On Biotron Ring Biotron Jointed Pendant Hourtoy Inter-changeables Vintage: Cosmobot: Robotman now in purple, yellow and red color combo
Thanks Adam! Great job on this and the M10X checklist. Should we add the Inter-changeables Series 2 "Cosmobot" and "Terrobot" to the list? These are the 2 non-existant variations of Robotman that appear photographed on the back of the M&D Toys Inter-changeables Series 2 packaging, (though some Series 2 boxes still have the Hourtoy label). (I know that you know this) http://www.innerspaceonline.com/ics2htm.htm
yeah, we gotta have the wacko holy grail. i didn't realize about the cardboard stuffs wit hteh first robotman eitehr. Another great list man.
Good addition Dave. I hadn't added those as no one has ever found one and they're probably just spray paint and clay hahaha, but who knows what will turn up one day. If we could ever find a better photo to go from it would be nice to get a Terrobot head made.
There are also the 3 Yujin Robotman figures done in the Micro Robotman colors. Maybe the list should look like this: Yujin Microman: Robotman Gashapon Robotman SAS-SS Gashapon: Same Gashapon in Black and Dark Silver color scheme World Character Convention Exclusive Robotman Gashapon: Micro Robotman Green Robotman Gashapon: Micro Robotman Yellow/Blue Robotman Gashapon: Micro Robotman Blue/Red
Good catch Koji. I had seen those, but I didn't realize they were really released, I thought someone just customized them. Shit another bunch I have to track down. It never ends with Microman
Give me some time and I can assemble it for most of the stuff. I have a bunch of it and probably have pics somewhere of the missing stuff.
Here is a bunch of the stuff pictured. Most of these images are taken from http://www.microforever.com or http://www.innerspaceonline.com I highly recommend both of those sites if you want to learn more about Microman or Micronauts. They are truly the encyclopedias for this stuff.
It blows the mind!!!!!!!!!!! When I get my work build up this is what my top shelves need. Anyone have a crystal robotman? Ike
I do. That shelf a few pics from the bottom is mine with the Crystal next to the HyperDrive. Here's another pic I found in my stuff as well:
radical. the crystal one and the necklace and the black and silver so awesome. Really wanna find that necklace.
I think the necklace was only a Micronauts salesperson sample. The only one I know of is in Dave W's (www.innerspaceonline.com) collection. There is some Kara jewelry too D-Lux!
Just posted some more scans. This time from a 1980 Microman Punch figure catalog that has a mockup drawing of what they call “Robotman 3” on this page and that would end up being formally named, “Robotman God Fighter”.
In turn that was the inspiration for my friend Matsumoto's CG poster he sold under license at WonderFest (I helped him with the English text some): Wow, I've never seen Godfighter Robotman shown as Robotman 3 before. Very cool concept artwork. I'm actually working with a certain friend lately on getting together a Terrobot head made for casting. Hopefully it will turn out good. Maybe we'll do some other alternate heads and parts down the road if it works out. Lastly, this list is missing Space Frog, that infamous weird Robotman K.O.
Welcome to the Micro corner of Skull Brain, Bry! And yes, Space Frog is quite an amazing piece of knock-off work. Those kind of knock-offs amaze me more than straight knock-offs; someone clearly put some effort into creating it but for a small knock-off market?
Thanks! Oops, missed that Matsumoto's poster had been posted not long ago here, it didn't load last time. Ah well, this one's a little bigger (though hotlinked from Matsumoto's site, hope he doesn't mind). I have it and his Giant Acroyear cross-section from the following WonFes on my wall, great stuff. He also did a horizontal-format one of just the Robotman's endoskeleton being serviced that I need to frame still. Yeah, looking at Space Frog, I suspect they made the toy entirely from scratch except maybe the claws, and simply modeled it after Robotman rather than doing a straight copy, hence the changes and simplification in the details. I doubt even the internals are the same...
Whaaaaa ! This is so amazing ! I wish this forum was more active. I dont know much about these toys (my friends had some Micronauts when I was young, but somehow I though they were cheap and prefered getting SW figs and Lego instead ). I really like to see & learn about them and loving them from afar.
There is a lot of Micro knowledge on here is there is something you want to know more about specifically ask away and I'm sure you'll get the answer soon and then some.
I love all of the Base 2x0 stuff. It's a shame they closed down. I still have some photos of the shop that you sent me long ago. I'll dig them up and scan them. It was such a beautiful store. The custom Cocobats are insane.
