if anyone has reliable directions coming from north of the city that would be pretty cool. really no point in parking north of manhattan, taking a train and then the subway to get all the way to brooklyn. sigh! haven't made that drive in awhile.....
directions Mass Transit: If you're in Manhattan: take the Brooklyn bound "L" train to Bedford Ave. Get off and walk south on Bedford to North 5th. You'll see Earwax records on the corner and you can either enter in the MiniMall to get to High Five, or just take a right onto North 5th (heading toward Manhattan) and walk a few shops until you see a bunch of cool figures in the window! If you're in Brooklyn: For the most part you'll need to take the Queens bound "G" train to Lorimer, transfer to the Manhattan bound "L" to Beford and pretty much follow the same directions. If you're in Queens: Same deal, but take the Smith Street - 9th bound "G" train down and pick up the "L". Or stop off at Nassau Ave and I can meet up with people Driving From the north, your best bet is to take the BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway) South. I'm not 100% sure on the various exits, but there is one at McGuiness Blvd. You exit there, head South on Driggs and you'll start to see the various street signs counting down from North 15th. If you get off past that, you'll then have to head north on Bedford Ave -- same deal, watch the signs. Luckily they go North 15th through North 3rd, then Metropolitan, North 1st, Grand and then you hit the South numbers (South 1st through South 11th). From Jersey I guess the best bet is to take the PATH to 6th ave and pick up the "L" there and take that to Bedford. I'll stop by High Five today and get their address and post it here so people can do either a HopStop or Mapquest for exact directions. KW
Fuck, I was just at High Five a couple days ago. Now I'm back in Minneapolis. The guys at High Five were very cool by the way. Really friendly.
Lash, how come I get the gnawing feeling you might get lost? Yankee stadium is in the BX. Complete opposite of BK. Just remember : "The Bronx is up, and Brooklyn's down" Anyway, check the link I gave you and that should give you a map of the city and where you want to go.
thanks kubrick... that'd still be a bit of a suicide mission for me. only personally driven in a few times anyone has any other advice it would still be appreciated! (and of course, i'll work on it myself and post the results. lol)
O yeah I'm gonna get so lost I'm definitly gonna have to meet up with someone who knows what the fuck there doing because I certainly dont Anyone wanna meet up ?? Its gonna be me and my girl.
yeah I will probably want to meet up with someone as well Lash because I've no idea where it is either....maybe someone will be a guide for us
really easy guys once someone shows you where to go. i can meet up with everyone and show you the ropes. just decide amongst yourselves on a meeting place. I'll be the guy picking your pockets.
Yeah me too once outta Manhattan I'm looking like a 5 year old looking for mommy Lamour so I will just follow the guy who picked my pocket then sounds good.
trains The "L" only runs east and west -- you're thinking of the 6 train, which pretty much runs north and south. As the time gets closer, we'll get a few of the local peeps to meet up with people and do some tour guide stuff. I'm down for helping out when possible and have no problem meeting up with a group. I'll hand out matching red shirts and a big flag so people know we're an out-of-town group Or, instead of nametags we just string our favorite vinyl figure around our necks. KW
Re: trains I just got a visual of a bunch of people walking around with hedorans and shost fighters dangling from their necks....
