Stunning!!! This looks like it has that special metallic powder in the vinyl, right?

I wish I knew what they called it. Because it’s very different than glitter/lame molding.

 

No idea about the vinyl composition but it's the most slick/shiny toy I own.

 

Yeah, that seems to be another property of that variety of vinyl. Probably because it’s mostly a clear vinyl with these shiny powders mixed in. Unlike something that just has metallic paints, it creates sorta swirly effects when you look close.

I’ve mostly seen it in some Maxtoy figures over the last few years. Often referred to by Mark as “Solarized”. Which may be more about those metallics powders sometimes being more iridescent in nature.

But I’ve seen this super fine shimmer in some others too. My preferred term would be “pearl molding” but I assume there’s a real word the factories probably have for it.
