casherns dog friender came in two boxed versions from takatoku. Both had him in the motercycle set up, but i cant tell you if either of them were wind-ups. For some reason i dont think they were.
Paid a visit today to Uncommon Objects in Austin with my daughter (who likes buying jars of teeth). She says, hey look at this toy robot, and surprise! It's King Joe! From the mark on the foot I think its' a Popy, and I found a similar Baltan and Gojira online, but little else. Pretty good unexpected find for a Saturday. Spoiler: More pix Spoiler: Still works, in a sense
Resurrecting this super fun thread Finally found a near perfect "flying ladybug", exactly like the one my Mom gave me so long ago. The bug zooms around the room and wings flap up and down wildly, with a "clap clap clap" sound. I literally loved it to pieces as a kid. Nice to have a reminder of my Mom, who loved to give us Japanese toys, when it was highly affordable, common, and was not yet considered "art" Maker is "Trade K Mark" And... Two on left are key windups, two on right are friction movement. I had a yellow and lime green winders, but I think they went off to a fundraiser
@Mr. Humphreys According to this website, the maker of the ladybug may be Ohta. https://tinplatetoys.blogspot.com/p/index-of-japanese-tinplate-toy.html
@akum6n THANK YOU for the proper identification of the maker! So sorry for the late reply, took a break from toys . Sharp eyes and keen recognition, many thanks.
