I've been looking forward to this figure for quite some time. Apparently, a limited color variant will be released at the new Munky King store's opening. I have been wondering whether it's possible for a color variant to match or surpass the regular edition, and I've come to the conclusion that the color variant will inevitably be inferior. In my opinion, the color of the bear is significant. White stands for purity, innocence, good, etc. If the bear is a different color (ie dark brown or black), the figure won't have the same impact. Of course, people will still climb over one another to get the more limited edition. Your thoughts?
Yeah, I'm just speculating, but I have the feeling that the color variant is going be a black bear. I saw a picture of a black bear on Munky King's homepage. I think that was meant as a teaser. I could be wrong though.
the limited colorway isn't coming out until sdcc ... the munky king opening thing is a toy/print set with the regular colorway.
I really like this guy, but I haven't seen any actual toy proto pics. Does anyome have any or links to any? I will be lining up for this one, especailly as MK will be opening up in walking distance from my house...well, a longish walk...so I'll probably drive...cos I'm in LA after all
it's a munky king toy ... their first. if you look on the forum on their site, they're also doing toys by thomas han and kii arens later this year. this was the prototype from sdcc last year: there's a "sneak peek" of the final version on munky king's forum. you can see some small changes in the paint.
I remember seeing it at sdcc but for some reason thought it was CB which made me sad cause then i wouldnt be picking it up well.. and it would never come out
i think in the thread where he posted the egg going on sale, soto said he was the holdup on the walker and not critterbox. i'm too lazy to double-check though.
