    FYI

The recent 2019 Uninformed podcast with Bill Burr and Joe DeRosa, which was on a Patreon pay-for platform has recently been released completely free on iTunes etc. There's about 12 new episodes.

Bill said he was useless at creating extra content so he's abandoned his Patreon page.

I started listening to this one recently by the comedian Romesh Ranganathan and his friend. I can recommend the episodes with Afrika Baby Bam, DJ Shadow, Chali 2na, Frankie Boyle, Louis Theroux and Adam Buxton ... Its a good conversational podcast.

[Transferred over from the Streaming thread]: Dirty John anyone? It's a podcast, but I think there's actually a show based on the story (dramatized, not docutized). We would go on weekend drives during the winter to get out of the house, and listened to the podcast over the course of a few drives. It was a little repetitive, which felt like padding in order to hit standard episode lengths. But otherwise it was an enjoyable podcast to listen to.

'Off Menu' podcast. Two British comedians ask guests what their dream meal is. They did a bunch of recording in L.A./New York pre-covid so there's plenty of American comedian episodes, which they release sporadically. Other than that its mainly English or Irish guests, including TV Presenters, Musicians, Artists, Actors, Writers, Chefs, Food Critics etc

It's a funny and slightly mad podcast, which is an appropriate listen whilst you're preparing food ...

I’ve been listening to the “It’s All Bad” podcast lately. It’s about a bunch of guys who used to be hardcore drug addicts telling all of the craziest/best drug stories. Lots of laughs, lots of debauchery and lots of drugs. All of them live in the Los Angeles area so there’s lots of references to old-school LA in the 80s and 90s as well as current references.

Fully with you on Johnathan's latest project, so good. Outside of his stories on TAL, I used to really enjoy him on Wiretap as well. Worth checking out if you haven't before.

On the Gimlet tip, I really loved Reply All, and was very sad when it imploded last year, long story which you might already know, but not half as sad as I was when the pod company made its first worst decision when they cancelled Mystery Show after the first season. Starlee Kine is an international treasure.

So many Reply All eps to recommend, but you could do worse that checking out Zardulu to try it on for size. For Mystery show, just start at the beginning. I mean, there's only six of them...

With you on Reply All; however, imho, it imploded far before The Test Kitchen incident. They lost their way when they moved from tech-light stories toward politics. There are far better podcasts if you want that topic covered well and to hear two people bumble through it was painful. The death of it for me was the addition of Emmanuel Dzotsi, who is unable to complete a sentence without the superfluous use of the word "like" CONSTANTLY added in; it was akin to listening to a comedian pretending to be the stereotypical Valley Girl but with a po-face. This, and the further spiral into topics that were not their core raison d'etre, killed it for me.

A real shame because the early seasons were pure gold and so many interesting, and funny, topics were covered. For people who haven't dug into those, there is a treasure trove to be discovered.

I know Criminal has been mentioned, which is excellent, but Phoebe Judges other podcast is also worth a listen:

Softer, kinder and with few sharp edges, this is a feel good podcast.

A podcast I rate is Do Go On. It’s three Aussie comedians who each take turns researching a topic and then doing a report on that topic to the other two. They’ve done eps on obscure historical events, biographies, mysteries and heists etc. It’s interesting and funny. The hosts have great chemistry and banter.

I second Moog’s recommendation of Off Menu above too. It’s very entertaining and funny.

So, I equate 'casting with comedy, yeah i know, and I get a kick outta Tim Dillon, Chris Distefano and Mark Normand, or Theo Von.
They're comedically sharp, imho, and they have a mix of friends, mostly also comedians like Joe List or Sal Vulcano or Joey Derosa.

Also big comedic fan of annie lederman and cheeto santino, but there's some hoopla around bobby lee these day, so i stopped caring about their combo 'casts like bad friends.

Chrissy D & Sal do this Hey Babe! 'cast that's just lotsa fun. And.. AreYouGarbage? .. which i am :D

Yeah, I'm a fan of the 'Taste Buds' pod with Joe & Sal, also on the no presh network. Joey Roses has been a fave of mine for a while now. They get so annoyed with each other on Taste Buds, its hilarious.

I've been enjoying the Dudesy podcast with Will Sasso and Chad Kultgen. The show is being directed by an artificial intelligence that comes up with things for them to discuss. Very odd at times.

I don't think there's an actual AI. It's all Sasso, all the time. With some Chad sprinkled in.

I haven't seen anything that makes me doubt that an AI is directing it. If it was Sasso himself doing it, it would be more in line with his style of humor and there would be some sort of "Harold" style arc to it. So far the output is as repetitive and nonsensical as everything else I've seen from AIs in the past.

There have been some fun fan edits produced from the podcast material. One time Dudesy asked them to sing about their favorite video games to Pearl Jam songs and someone set it to the actual music:

Few podcasts I’m listening to these days (fair warning, all require attention).

    1. The Great Simplification with Nate Hagens. One of the (still too few) economists who make sense. Sobering in the best way.

    2. The Contemplative Science Podcast. For geeking out on the the meaning, value, pitfalls, shadow etc of mindfulness practices.

    3. Awakening from the meaning Crisis with John Vervaeke. Not really a podcast, more a 50 hours long lecture on the history of thoughts as well as a critique of our (mostly western centric) way of making sense of our world. I wish I had that lecture as a young teen and then again as a young adult.
