Ian Gillan, Tony Iommi & Friends - Out Of My Mind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJFL-scaPCI WhoCares is Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan and Black Sabbath guitar master Tony Iommi. After having worked together some time ago on the Black Sabbath album "Born Again" they came together again to set up one of the biggest-ever super-bands for a good cause. Joining them on the "Out Of My Mind" single are some other rock legends: Jon Lord on keyboard ("Mr. Hammond", partner with Gillan on all the Deep Purple classics), Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain, ex Metallica bass player Jason Newsted and HIM guitar player Linde Lindström. Not only jamming together for the sheer fun of things, this new project has united for a cause - rebuilding and helping the music school in Gyumari, Armenia. Both Gillan and Iommi have spent a lot of time in Armenia when touring there and have fallen in love with the country and the people. The nation that was struck by a massive earthquake on December 7, 1988 has been rebuilt but certain structures of the society have yet to be - one specific example is Gyumari music school. Having recorded two new songs, the intent is one of the best and most considerate actions the rock scene has ever seen. All of the money raised from the single will be going directly to the fund for rebuilding the music school never reconstructed since the disaster. They pulled together this new band to really show what support needs to be given in times of such disaster, not only sending wishes and hopes, but also acting upon them! Impressively, the line-up is one of the most interesting and astounding to come together. A reunion and new power band, there is a lot going on with old musical reconnections, new meetings and overall a mix of some of the top rockers the world has ever seen. Truly giving back to a place they love, this is also a once-in-a-lifetime event for the rest of the world to hear a new brilliant blend of top musicians as well as to support a sincere and selfless idea! The CDE contains the tracks "Out Of My Mind" (an epic hard rock classic, destined to remain in time as a hard rock milestone) and "Holy Water" and a 30-minute documentary that shows Gillan’s and Iommi’s involvement with the Armenia cause over the years.
