New York Comic Con 2017 is quickly approaching! I'll be compiling a list of exhibitors that might be interesting to the Skullbrain community and keeping it updated here. Please let me know if I should add anything. Super7 (Booth 227) Black Drove (Booth 780 with Tenacious Toys) Clutter Magazine (Booth 575) myplasticheart (Booth 888 ) Other vendors from previous years like Mishka and Clutter are not listed on the NYCC website so I assume they aren't exhibiting this year. So, looks like yet another year where we see sofubi slowly disappearing from the show floor. I haven't seen anyone post about exclusives or appearances yet, that usually happens closer to the date. Also, feel free to post info about any local sofubi events that coincide with NYCC.
I hope to have something in time to show alongside with BlackDrove at NYCC this year. All depends on how quickly my run of toys get here. Hopefully no later than mid September. Fingers crossed.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Thanks for the heads-up though. If they announce any sofubi releases then I'll add them to the list.
Cool! Good luck with coordinating everything. Would love to check out Asphaerius in-person! Verrrrrry interesting. I won't bother Griz or Bo yet if they aren't ready to announce but I will keep my eyes peeled for more info.
Chatted with them at Boston Fan Expo a couple weekends ago. I'm aware of all the BS that was being thrown around involving SxS, but having had the opportunity to talk to two of the dudes at the booth has me hoping that they've cooled their jets as they were both very pleasant to talk to.
Nothing was "thrown around". The guy went out of his way to, very publicly, make homophobic and misogynistic comments and that did not sit well with the majority of the community, and hopefully people, as a whole. Most people are pleasant when they want you to buy something.
Not to mention that these assholes also threatened a 5 year old girl and wished rape on women... But if you're ok with that, to each their own...
Black Drove announced over the weekend that they will be exhibiting at booth 780 with Tenacious Toys and the artist lineup looks incredible! Added to the list!
Added booth numbers and also Clutter Magazine who have now been added to the exhibitor list on the NYCC website. No confirmation yet that Clutter or MPH will have sofubi but they usually have a release or two. Only other exhibitor that I haven't seen on the NYCC website that usually has sofubi is Mishka. Just found out I get to go on Saturday for work. So, yay. I have to work for a few hours, but I also get to go in for free. Ill take it.
Dude those Pumas are amazing whaaaaaaaaaaatt!!!! It's not wrong at all. Toy Tokyo is an institution and I will always support them as long as they have a shelf of soft vinyl in the back and probably even if they didn't. Lev is an OG and he's gotta do what's right for his business. And I mean, I certainly don't go to NYCC for sofubi only...that would be pretty boring since there's hardly any left. SPEAKING OF WHICH, another OG: Grody Shogun himself is apparently gonna be all up in the East coast for NYCC and Death's Vault. Swooping in to save the day at the MPH booth. I'M BEYOND STOKED!
NYCC turned out to be pretty decent after all! Grody was an excellent surprise and Clutter brought a whole bunch of great toys. Black Drove was my first stop to grab the Kagemaru crocodile and some other goodies. Can't forget MPH! I wish Super7 had more sofubi but I can't blame them for catering to the audience.
