Another attic find - I vaguely remember buying these around 16-17 years ago at a killer Japanese toy shop in Edgewater, NJ...it didn't last very long even though the community there is largely Japanese. Anybody have info on these card sets? 100 cards bound together with a thin strip of rubber glue - the only dates I found on the box are 1990 & 1992. I'm tempted to break them up and place them in random spots around the city for shits and giggles...
oh, trust me, there be vinyl a-plenty for those! as for the cards -- are those part of the cardass series?
I have no idea - I bought them on a whim when I was around 18 and they've been stored away since...excuse my ignorance but what is the cardass series?
haha my brother told me if you look up this monster's name online you can find lots of pics of people imitating it by putting their shirts over their head like cornholio
I think that's what it was called - the shop in the same lot as Mitsuwa market, right? Back then the market was under a diff name though...You know the place too huh?
Yep, it was Pony Toy Go-Round in Yaohan (now Mitsuwa) Plaza. I was just writing something about it for the "days of collecting before the internet" thread. There was also a Pony Toy in Santa Monica, and (I believe) Chicago. My heart aches to see that place again.
Pretty depressing that the storefront that Pony TGR was in is STILL empty...WTF?! I used to buy all the small stuff like masked rider keychains cuz I never had $ for the big stuff...
There WAS a Pony Toy in the Arlington Heights Yaohan! Good lord, we would drive up there every few weeks to stare at the goodies we couldn't afford, then pick up small shit for a few bucks and revel in the imported awesomeness
Those are great, I have collection #1 I believe they issued these for a majority of the Ultra Shows. Great way to see all the different Kaiju/Seijin characters that were produced for the live action shows.... (and those that were not)
