Just got back from seeing the Nick Cave installation at the Fowler Museum at UCLA. It was stellar. Some 35 suits on display. Runs through the end of May. Well worth the visit. The other exhibition of art from the Fowler's holdings (not the silver) was also very impressive. Cheers to Connell for bringing Nick Cave to my attention in that old thread about knitted superhero costumes.
So glad you got to see the Nick Cave show. Pretty amazing stuff huh? For those of you that haven't had a chance to see it yet the show is at the Fowler for the next four months. I highly recommend everyone see it at least once. Here's a link to the Fowler museum. Info about the Nick Cave show is on that page along with a few short videos on his work. http://www.fowler.ucla.edu/incEngine/?c ... xhibitions
Amazing is an understatement. For a bit of perspective, I must say, and this may be sacrilege to some, but these "costumes," if you will, are more impressive than the Ultraseven display I saw at the Ultraman Festival in 2007 (except for Alien Goron). If you are in L.A., even for a day, go! FYI, admission is free!
wow those are incredible. i also thought it was about the bad seed nick cave, but wow what a nice surprise.
