I just got the most recent blue die-cast Mad Baron in the mail, which had me wondering what the deal is with Exohead > Zollmen. It's been so long that I had forgotten if Exo just changed names and became Zollmen, had been "bought out" by Z, or what. Searching for an answer this decade+ old thread came up and re-reading it, it sounds like Exohead (Jun) basically shelved Exohead to sculpt for Zollmen? Anyway, it was a blast going back through and seeing all the old pics of sculpts, many of which seemingly and unfortunately never went into production. Amazing that most of the pic links have survived this long!
Did this thread predict the future or trigger the future. Looks like exohead is coming back and might be releasing some of these older unmade works. Unfortunately looks like he’s plotting the 4KD10 gallery route which will probably make the figures impossible to acquire. https://www.instagram.com/zel_art_industry?igsh=MWtlb21wYzI5MWdodg==
I was just sitting here staring up at my Man Machines standing alongside my die cast Mad Barons and SB & Skulltoys cyborg suits. My first stray thought was how it would be awesome if Exohead upsized the new Man Machines (assuming they happen!) to fit on 12" cyborg bodies. But, as I glanced over to the Mad Barons I thought it would be even better if they were die cast! I know that won't be a popular opinion, but it would really help with stability. And the mid-size of the die cast would be a nice increase from their current size, without becoming shelf-hogs that the cyborgs can be. Also, I remembered that I still have a few suits without bodies, and I really don't want to buy more bodies if Man Machines just came as empty suit pieces.
I’m excited to hear that Exohead seems to be returning, but if it is like the rest of zollmen’s current output, ie- ultra high end expensive and impossible to get, I’ll make my own figures in that style.
