read about Thrashout's closure in 2012 on KK. pretty much bummed out but hoping that Gargamel will still stay on. really hope some of us could pop by the shop if we're in TYO this month at least. heard they don't open regularly but i hope at least i can drop in at a time it's opened.
Heartbreaking and a great letter to fans....One of THE best companies that I will continue to support. Best.
It really is. With only a few exception, my whole vinyl collection is pretty much Gargamel. I really hope they'll continue with releases and can find a new start in that manner.
For those of us who can't read Japanese and for whom Google Translate is doing a terrible job of translating, can someone tell us what that says?
I think most people already know TO at koenji will be closed something in Jan 2012. Kiyoka was just explaining the rationale of the move to Fukuoka. Basically he did so in consideration of his family & kid's interest due to the nuclear fallout incident at Fukushima after the 3/11 earth quake. Although I personally feel that Tokyo is safe enough, I do respect their decision. TO koenji is such an icon. I will forever remember the new year midnite line for the fukubukuros in the early days, the many amazing shows they have had in the past years, and the casual visits to the shop for toy talk & viewing. Although TO Koenji will be history soon, Gargamel toys will continue, so there will be many more exciting releases down the road. TO closure, pachi summit ending, wonder what's up next.
Here's some pics from KaijuKorner to brighten the mood Let's hope that last 1 has guts! More here: http://kaijukorner.blogspot.com/2011/12 ... shout.html
As much as it is a bummer about T.O. closing, I am just grateful that the gang will still be producing toys.
dayglo plz yellow snow plz i flipped when i saw these a while ago. sigh, to own a standard size deathra....
I'm glad I got to visit Thrashout at least once, even if I was the only one in the store and there wasn't a big event going on. I commend Kiyoka for doing what he feels is best for his family, sd the shop's going but good for him for fighting to do what he feels best. When I went there were a handful of those unpainted hanging out. I gotta admit, I started getting a lot more interested in unpainted vinyl thanks to that. Dayglo rules!
So are these blanks for upcoming Lucky Bags, or are they to be painted as customs for one last show??
I think I read on KK that they were for one offs. I thought that the bwana/martin show was the last show at TO though.
I hope so. I always thought that was cool, give everyone a blind shot. But also a TO goodbye party seems called for too.
