Yeah shocked me a little too. Randall, Relphe, and the 1st 5 or 6(OJO, Globby, Dolly, Tokoichi, etc.) all in that higher price range. I get that they have a lot more paint masks and parts to be painted which results in the paint being more detailed. I still kinda skim over them at those prices, but will hypocritically drool at a Zag or Mibora priced similarly. Whatever gets you going I guess.
Congrat's to everyone who got their top picks! And I *shake my fist thustly* at whoever scored the neon green Pocket Killer #111 I was able to get the sleeping Killer (#44), but didn't have enough money left over for the Pocket Killer... Ah well, I was able to get my #1 choice Miborah and my #1 choice sleeping Killer So I can't complain. Seriously though, it was one of the best shows ever!
Yeah, the prices for the nice middle series figures are a quite pricey in my opinion. Easy pass for both me and Maddie.
Kirby told me that the camo mini dethras are all spoken for. I was a little surprised, despite emailing an hour late due to work. If any of you are feeling buyer's remorse on that one, send it my way! NOW, how about lucky bags???
That was an incredible selection of pieces. If it wasn't for the hoildays, I would of thrown my wallet in the blender for Mibora #80.
I'm not sure, but If it wasn't for the Gold tongue and maybe Blue eyes I would have loved this one! The tongue kind of threw me off a little.
I was hoping to snag it, but some lucky dude got him first. Which in effect, saved me $$$ Mark, sell some of those extra goodies you cornered from this show--share the love man!
Okay now that #60 is sold I can move on. God I wanted that so bad, but my wallet wasn't having it. Congrats on who ever scored it and if you ever want to sell or trade it let me know
Launching my hunter drones for any Zags and Miboras from the show. Hit me up if you change your mind and decide you should really spend that money on a holiday gift for the wife................
Some might be listed as 1 of their main colors, but most are listed as vinyl color 1st. Judging by the other purple zags and Miboras, I'd still say it's purple. Maybe ask over on the Chicago thread is anyone remembers. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=32499&start=150
I talked to Kiyoka a bit during the show. Some of his comments: -the paint style on the Gacharoid was "to show that I can paint like this" -when #59 sold he was really sad. He said it had been unsold in a previous show and he was hoping to take it home again. -the vinyl in the green Hujili's Ghost was a clear with green neon test pour that he was really happy with; one of two in that color (LM has the other one). -Chanmen loves anime & manga (no surprise). #63 was his idea for a Neon Genesis Evangelion design.
the gacharoid was ignored all night it was painted with awesome battle damage and weathering effects. warhammer fans would have been right at home with it. at least #59 was sold to a super fan of the miborah. kiyoka should be happy that it's going to a home full of other miborahs waiting for a reunion. i always wondered about the separation anxiety that artists must feel toward their creations. i didn't get the evangelion vibe from that crouching miborah, but now i see it. thanks for sharing his insights!
The prices on some are nuts, but that green Gacharoid is actually mighty tempting. Who wants half a liver?
Not me, but I did tell myself if he was available when I woke up I'd buy him. It is better for me this way though! Very nice indeed
Haha you guys keep refering to them as the numbers and I'm like "which one?" I'm just too lazy to pull up the list. Honestly not a stinker in the house, even figures I'm not into or paint/colors/styles that I'm not the hottest on I appreciated seeing them so much in person. So much great work. To those who've been to other Garg shows or SDCC, how do the prices stack up? They seem along the same line as past shows but I wasn't sure. I had a great time and can't believe I nabbed my #1 choices, no comprimise, well worth the wait.
