Looks like we can look forward to another end of the year Thrash Out Show Online. Can't wait to see the video showcases. Interesting thoughts shared by Kiyoka on the state of soft vinyl production in his blog (link).
The preorders were for those were made in February of 2022… I’m guessing we don’t see them delivered before the one year anniversary. Just a guess.
I really want one of those deathras from angel Abby. need to time my wants post when they start landing. Hehehe.
I suspect that given how many folk missed the AA release that there will be a few folk like myself who ended up scoring both the painted and blank Deathra. When they arrive there’s a good chance I’ll pick my fav and look to pass the other onto someone on here.
Just want to take a second and say good luck to any brainers that enter the thrashout online 2023 sale- let us know when winning emails go out!
Haven't won a lottery in a long time, so it was a nice surprise email. Will try and post pictures asap. ..
No interest in buying but kinda curious how the crazy internal paint applications were done (if I'm seeing what I'm seeing correctly) . . . especially without scuffing 'em up when putting the toys back together.
no luck either for me this year, but i only put in for 2. can’t wait to see everyone’s beauties, and i was delighted to see a burgerbuns in the mix (even if it was out of my price range).
First Gargamel win ever--I never made it to DCon while they were attending, and no luck for the past couple years of online shows. Happy to see so many on the boards got lucky as well
Just saw AAs notice about the Deathras. Postponed again as they need to manufacture them again due to bubbles. Not ideal.
At least they finally gave an update. I snagged the blank blue to pair with the blank clear and glow from years ago.
@gatiio they didn’t say anything but it might be a good time to contact them. I wonder if they have had any cancellations.
GK-128 Tetran landed today. So vibrant and cohesive despite all the detail on show, just perfect. Plus, it almost matches my LB2018 mecha. One thing I should have expected is that the thick coat of paint + sharply-defined pixel lines makes this guy feel a little fragile. Unlike a lot of clear Gargamel paints where the paint flows super smoothly into blank vinyl, you can actually feel the edges here. Not something you want to drop, or handle with long nails. I think the dramatic cutaway effect is worth it, though.
There's no denying the quality or the skill needed to achieve these effects, but (IMHO) I'm not sure if some of these feel like they're heading into fugly thread territory.
