The arterial blood spurts out of the Dullahan's (that's what he's called, right?) neck stump is a great added touch.
Does anyone have a straight-on photo of just the unpainted green Teenage Randall from this year's lucky bags?
There are not. We are left to our willey nilley devices to figure it all out. My super scientific equation. Double the wholesale and then add subtract for my current mood. Example. Killers were wholesaled at 4500 yen. so that's 9,000 yen minus some dollars for good exchange rate, add a few more for paypal fees (not the ones I pay when somebody pays me, the ones Gargamel charges for the pp fees that come out of what I pay them), overseas shipping fees, the other paypal fees that are taken out when you pay me.... and I came up with $77 on those. Which was a hard pill to swallow since the lucky bag pieces were going for half that. With lucky bags there was no way to tell how much these would actually wholesale/retail for. Now we know. Some of the other Gargamel goodies from this batch were show exclusives. With those i get no price break. I am agreeing to purchase them at the retail show price. So again it's a mystery what to actually price them at. I looked at Mandarake and just tried to make them all way cheaper And now I will change the prices to match the other retailers. Folks that already purchased from the gravy site will get extra treats in their boxes That's my 2 cents from the secret underworld of S&RBS
Thanks for the reply and details, Bwana! My experience with Japanese toys is that there is almost no wholesale margin and that once you factor in shipping, your wholesale cost is pretty much the same as what they retail for there. It's too bad for the Walking Killers. They are indeed a lot more expensive than the Lucky Bag ones went for, and with the crappy exchange rate right now, there's no way I can justify keeping up with my collection. Ah well, FWP I guess!
Gargamel just put them up on their webstore. They're ¥5,940, or us$49... The wholesale price was indeed 20% off, which indeed makes it hard for NA retailers to offer a comparable price.
http://blog.livedoor.jp/gargamel/archives/55406105.html - some pretty great toys there. i sent my requests for the lottery yesterday morning and got a relatively prompt reply that i didn't win. don't know if i was too late or just unlucky. sigh.
