That's exactly what I did . . . before posting that it was available. Had to secure mine before you got there.
...just a photo i took of my RampageToys Steregon - released this year (2013): ...the club thing he is holding is an unpainted stick from the Krampus fig... Many thanks Jon for throwing that in!
I like that Rampage Toys Steregon. I'm disappointed that I missed out on that one. I think it looks great.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ...yeah, SUCH amazing detail on the paint. And the mini-mismatched doll-eyes just complete it.
Wow the paint job on this is awesome. I totally thought it had been re sculpted I never saw all the detail on this toy. Great score!
^^^^ ...man, that's EXACTLY what happened to me too - thoughts of a re-sculpt, to the understanding that the paint job is just that good. The Rampage version brings out the beauty of the sculpt so well - revealing the skull on the knee, and the gash on the back among many others.
I'm not a fan of the fleshy look of this one... reminds me too much of the Nags. The contrast between the clean teeth and claws and the mottled body paint also seems too severe, although the paint work on the body itself is good. I do think that the paint work on the Stereogons can be pushed more than the standard vintage-style paint given to it thus far, which do not emphasize the level of detail on the sculpt. But I'd prefer to see something more rock-like or subdued.
^^^^ ...thanks for the input. LOVE how taste is so subjective. I generally prefer the more detailed sculpts, such as the Steregon to be painted to match the detail, whilst classic shape/sculpt toys look best vintage-style; but that's just me! *cough*....also, i have to admit i LOVE Nag's so that may explain my stance...*cough*
